HRMS and HCM Software · HCM suite
Darwinbox
by Darwinbox
Cloud HCM suite covering core HR, time and attendance, recruitment, talent and multi country payroll, marketed heavily in Asia and the Middle East. Darwinbox states native GCC payroll with WPS format file generation.
What it is
Darwinbox is an Asia origin cloud HCM suite with a UAE regional site, covering core HR with organisational and functional structure, workflows and permissions, geo tagged and geo fenced attendance with shifts and facial recognition, recruitment with CV parsing and a candidate portal, onboarding with digital offer letters, talent management with continuous feedback, goal cascading, succession and merit planning, rewards and recognition, analytics and payroll. The homepage currently headlines Darwinbox Cortex, described as an AI native HCM in early access, which reads as an added AI layer alongside the existing suite rather than a rename.
The UAE and GCC payroll evidence is explicit and first party, and it is the second strongest in this category, but it comes with an important caveat about where it appears. Darwinbox own blog content states that the platform generates WPS SIF files natively from audit ready inputs already held in the platform, rather than assembling them from exports or by stitching separate HR and payroll systems. It describes MOHRE Resolution 340 mechanics, including an 85 percent threshold checked per employee by a pre payroll validation engine before a run is finalised, and names the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait as covered markets. A second Darwinbox page states that it runs native payroll across the six GCC countries inside a unified HCM platform with the regional statutory stack built in, naming WPS format salary files and end of service benefit calculation, and referencing Emiratisation.
The caveat: that evidence sits on Darwinbox blog and landing pages, not on a product page. The actual payroll product page at darwinbox.com/en-us/products/payroll contains no country list and no UAE, GCC or WPS mention at all. The main HR management landing page does not mention the Gulf either. So the claim is vendor stated, and stated as native rather than partner delivered, but it is not product page documentation in the way Oracle UAE payroll guide is. A buyer should get it into a contract or a statement of work.
Several of Darwinbox UAE specific landing URLs now return 404, including two explore.darwinbox.com UAE payroll pages and darwinbox.com/ae/payroll-software, which makes the UAE product surface unstable and harder to verify over time.
No pricing is published anywhere, no pricing page or link was found, and no public API documentation exists. Darwinbox states the platform is built with open APIs that can integrate with any existing system, but there is no developer portal, and third party integration vendors describe API access as request only.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile app A mobile application for employees and managers. | Yes | Mobile with feedback, goals, geo tagging, expense scanning and analytics. iOS and Android availability was not confirmed. source |
| Compliance and reporting Statutory reporting and compliance documentation. | Yes | Country specific statutory rules applied natively from a single platform. source |
| Performance management Goals, reviews and appraisal cycles. | Yes | Talent Management with continuous feedback, goal cascading, multi stakeholder feedback, succession and merit planning. No module is literally named Performance Management on the pages opened. source |
| Onboarding Structured onboarding workflows and document collection. | Yes | Recruitment and onboarding with digital offer letters. source |
| Recruitment and ATS Vacancy management and applicant tracking. | Yes | AI CV parsing, ATS, candidate portal. source |
| Time and attendance Clocking, shift patterns and overtime calculation. | Yes | Geo tagged and geo fenced attendance, shifts, facial recognition. source |
| UAE and GCC payroll Payroll specifically supporting UAE or GCC requirements, named by the vendor. Not inferred from global coverage claims. | Yes | Vendor stated and stated as native, not partner delivered. Darwinbox says it generates WPS SIF files natively, describes MOHRE Resolution 340 and an 85 percent per employee threshold checked by a pre payroll validation engine, names all six GCC countries, and elsewhere names end of service benefit calculation. Important caveat: this evidence appears on Darwinbox blog and landing pages only. The payroll product page names no country and does not mention the UAE, the GCC or WPS. source |
| Payroll processing Native payroll calculation and payment runs, in at least one jurisdiction. | Yes | The product page is marketing copy with no feature list. source |
| Employee records A central employee record with history and documents. | Yes | Core HR with organisational structure, workflows, permissions, digitised separations and movements. source |
| Documented API A publicly documented API for integration. | Not verified | Darwinbox states the platform is built with open APIs that can integrate with any existing system, but no public developer or API documentation exists on the vendor site. An API exists per the vendor; public documentation is unknown. |
| Workforce planning Headcount planning, org modelling and forecasting. | Not verified | Not named. |
| Benefits administration Benefit plans, enrolment and deductions. | Not verified | Rewards and Recognition with budget planning is the closest module. Benefits administration is not named. |
| Manager self-service Managers approving and viewing their team data. | Not verified | Not named. |
| Employee self-service Employees maintaining their own data and requests. | Not verified | Not named. |
| Learning management Course delivery, assignment and completion tracking. | Not verified | Not named on any vendor page opened. |
| Leave management Leave entitlement, accrual, requests and approvals. | Not verified | Not named on the vendor pages opened. A customer testimonial mentions going live with Core, Leaves and Attendance, which is weak evidence. |

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Darwinbox states native payroll across all six GCC countries with WPS format salary file generation and end of service benefit calculation inside one HCM platform, and describes MOHRE Resolution 340 mechanics in specific operational detail. verified source
Limitations
- The UAE, GCC and WPS claims appear only on blog and landing content. The payroll product page itself names no country and does not mention the UAE or WPS. verified source
- Several Darwinbox UAE specific landing pages now return 404, so the UAE product surface is unstable and hard to verify over time. verified source
- No pricing is published and there is no public API documentation. Product pages are thin marketing copy without feature lists, so learning, benefits, self service and workforce planning could not be verified at all. verified source
Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Medium, Enterprise
For a UAE or Gulf mid market to enterprise buyer, Darwinbox belongs on the shortlist. It is one of only four products in this category where the vendor itself names UAE payroll, and one of only two that claim native WPS SIF generation inside the same platform that holds the HR record. The specificity is what makes it credible: MOHRE Resolution 340, the 85 percent per employee threshold and a pre payroll validation engine are not generic marketing phrases, and the six GCC countries are named individually rather than implied by a country count.
The counterweight is verifiability. Product pages are thin marketing copy with no feature lists, which is why learning, benefits, self service, manager self service, workforce planning and even leave could not be confirmed here at all. No pricing is published. No public API documentation exists. UAE landing pages have been churning and several now 404. A buyer should therefore insist on a structured demo against their own requirement list and get the WPS and gratuity behaviour demonstrated with their own data rather than described.
Compared with the alternatives: against Oracle and SAP, Darwinbox trades documentation depth and enterprise ERP integration for a lighter implementation and a regional focus. Against Zoho, it trades public pricing and SME simplicity for suite breadth and enterprise scale. Against Ramco Payce, the two are the closest competitors on Gulf statutory payroll, but Ramco states its UAE support on its own product page while Darwinbox states it in blog content.
Typical use cases: Gulf and Asian mid market to large employers wanting one platform for HR and regional statutory payroll; multi country GCC groups; employers who value mobile first attendance with geo fencing. Less typical: small businesses, buyers who need published pricing, and organisations with hard API documentation requirements.

Frequently asked questions
Darwinbox states that it does, natively, from data already held in the platform rather than from exports, and describes MOHRE Resolution 340 handling including an 85 percent per employee threshold checked before a payroll run is finalised. It names all six GCC countries. The caveat worth knowing is that this appears on Darwinbox blog and landing content rather than on its payroll product page, which names no country at all, so ask for it to be demonstrated and written into the contract.
No figure is published. No pricing page or pricing link could be found on the vendor site or its UAE regional site, and interactive demos are offered instead.
