Field Service Management Software · Field service for trades
Simpro
by Simpro Group
Field service and job management software for trade and commercial contractors, with deep project contracting functionality including progress billing and retention. Parent of AroFlo, BigChange and ClockShark. Quote-only pricing.
What it is
On the capitalisation question: the vendor writes it Simpro, initial capital only, and the company as Simpro Group. That is the form used across its own current page titles, its own press releases and third-party coverage. The older styling simPRO is historical: it last appears prominently in the 2021 vendor press release announcing growth investment from K1. Use Simpro; do not use simPRO as the current form.
The main Simpro site still refuses automated access, but two sibling hosts do not, and they carry a great deal. www.simprogroup.com returns HTTP 403 on every path tried and all regional domains, including the Australian and UK ones, simply redirect into it. However marketplace.simprogroup.com is fully readable with 248 app listings, and the help-guide host publishes a plain-text index of its entire documentation set. Those two closed most of the gaps. Named integrations now verified from Simpro own marketplace include QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB, HubSpot, Salesforce, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Sage 200 and Sage 50, Stripe, Microsoft Business Central, SAP Finance, Power BI, SharePoint, Outlook, Zendesk, Zoho, Shopify, Square and a Simpro Zapier app. Accounting integrations are formally grouped as such, with QuickBooks, Xero and MYOB as the headline three. A customer portal and GPS time tracking plus Simtrac fleet tracking are confirmed as named features in the help-guide index, and a Developer Center exists.
What remains unreadable is specific. Simpro pricing is entirely on the blocked host, so no figure exists here; the only published figure found anywhere is a partner app price, 699 US dollars per month for a third-party Sage Intacct connector. The API documentation itself is behind the 403, so the developer programme is confirmed to exist but its contents are not. Route optimisation is not a native named feature, being supplied instead by a partner app called eLogii, and the term SLA does not appear in the help-guide index at all, with Response Times the nearest native equivalent.
What is verifiable describes a product aimed higher up the market than Jobber or Housecall Pro. Simpro covers estimating and quoting, scheduling and dispatch, mobile job execution, inventory, invoicing, payments, job costing, project management, asset maintenance and reporting. The commercial contracting depth is the real differentiator: progress billing, retention management and materials price monitoring are the kind of functionality lighter field service tools simply do not have. Simpro Premium is aimed at large complex enterprises and franchises and at multi-company trades.
- Simpro Group owns BigChange, which is also profiled in this category. Both are separately marketed products with their own sites, feature sets and buyers, so both get profiles. Group brands are Simpro, AroFlo, BigChange and ClockShark.
- Simpro own comparison content concedes the learning curve, flagging it as having a higher learning curve and more platform than lean teams need. That is a vendor admission worth more than most analyst commentary.
- Strong international coverage. Group-level material cites presence across the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom, plus a Montreal AI research centre, which distinguishes it from the US-centric ServiceTitan, FieldEdge and Service Fusion.
- Lightning, an AI operating layer with an assistant called Cooper and agents across Simpro, AroFlo and BigChange, launched in May 2026.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Documented API A publicly documented API for integration. | Yes | QUALIFIED. The vendor help-guide index lists API FAQs and its footer links a Developer Center at developer.simprogroup.com, so a developer programme demonstrably exists. The documentation itself could NOT be read: both developer.simprogroup.com and its /apidoc/ path returned HTTP 403. A third-party integration platform states the API is reached through an OAuth app inside your Simpro build. No vendor statement on REST versus other styles, and no webhook support, could be verified. source |
| Workforce and crew management Timesheets, crews, certifications and workforce administration. | Yes | Track labour hours and cost. Group also owns ClockShark, a time-tracking product. source |
| GPS and vehicle tracking Vehicle or technician location tracking. | Yes | Named in the vendor help-guide index: GPS Time Tracking in Simpro Mobile captures time automatically from technician location, plus Simtrac for fleet vehicle tracking with live vehicle positions on a map. source |
| Invoicing and payments Invoicing from completed work and taking payment. | Yes | Invoicing and payments, plus managing progress billing. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Quoting and estimating Producing quotes and estimates for customer work. | Yes | Estimating and quoting. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Parts and inventory Parts consumption, van stock and inventory tracking. | Yes | Inventory, plus identifying best value materials and monitoring price increases. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Work order management Work order lifecycle from request to completion. | Yes | Job management across mobile job execution and job costing. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Service contracts and agreements Recurring service agreements, entitlements and renewals. | Yes | PARTIAL. Asset maintenance is named, which evidences maintenance contract and asset servicing rather than a named service contracts module. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Customer portal A portal for customers to log and track jobs. | Yes | Named in the vendor help-guide index: How to Set Up the Customer Portal, giving customers self-service access to their jobs and invoices. Sibling employee and contractor portals are also listed. source |
| Technician mobile app A dedicated mobile application for field technicians. | Yes | Mobile job execution, with web and mobile apps. The app exists as Simpro Mobile on Google Play, where the title was readable but the description was not. source |
| Scheduling and optimisation Scheduling work against availability, skills and capacity. | Yes | Scheduling and dispatch. Vendor snippet level evidence; page returned 403. source |
| Dispatch and assignment Assigning jobs to technicians and managing the dispatch board. | Yes | Scheduling and dispatch. Evidence is vendor page title and snippet level; the page itself returned 403. source |
| SLA management Measuring response and resolution against service levels. | Not verified | The term SLA does not appear anywhere in the vendor help-guide index. The nearest native feature is Response Times, for setting response times for service work, which was deliberately not mapped to this slug. |
| Offline working Creating and completing work with no connectivity, and syncing on reconnection. | Not verified | LABEL ONLY, so held at unknown. The one readable affirmative statement is a two-word feature bullet, Offline functionality, in the Apple App Store listing published by Simpro Software Pty Ltd, with no scope or limits. A Simpro help-guide page on mobile FAQs does appear to describe offline behaviour, but its body is JavaScript-rendered and could not be read, and the help-guide index confirms there is no dedicated offline page. Per the same standard applied to other products here, a bare feature label without any description of what works offline is not treated as verification. |
| Route optimisation Optimising travel between jobs across a working day. | Not verified | NOT a named native Simpro feature in the vendor help-guide index. The nearest native pages are Run Sheets and Zones, which group sites geographically for scheduling. Route optimisation is instead supplied by a partner app, eLogii, listed on the Simpro marketplace. Recorded unknown for the product itself rather than yes on a partner app. |

| Note | Quote-only. Simpro own published comparison roundup describes Simpro pricing as custom, meaning it requires a quote. Product editions are named rather than priced, with Simpro Premium described as for large complex enterprises and franchises. BLOCKED: the pricing page itself could not be read because simprogroup.com refuses automated access with HTTP 403, so even this rests on a vendor page title and snippet, and the readable marketplace and help-guide hosts carry no Simpro pricing either. The only published figure found anywhere is a PARTNER APP price, 699 US dollars per month for a third-party Sage Intacct connector including unlimited data sync, on a page that itself warns prices may be outdated. That is a third-party connector cost, NOT the price of Simpro, and it is noted here only so it is not mistaken for one. No aggregator price was used. |

Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Medium, Enterprise
Good fit: mid-market and larger trade and commercial contracting businesses, particularly electrical, plumbing and HVAC firms doing project and contract work rather than pure break-fix. The progress billing, retention management and job costing depth is the buying reason: if you invoice against progress claims and hold retention, most products in the trades half of this category cannot help you and this one can. It is also the best fit here for contractors operating outside North America, given the Australian, UK and US footprint. Multi-company trades and franchise operators are explicitly targeted by Simpro Premium.
Poor fit: lean teams and small operators, by the vendor own admission that it is more platform than lean teams need with a higher learning curve. Also a poor fit for any buyer who needs a published price, because every Simpro pricing path sits on the blocked host and nothing could be verified. Two specific requirements should be tested rather than assumed: route optimisation, which is not native and comes from a paid partner app, and offline mobile working, where the only readable vendor claim is a two-word feature bullet with no description of what actually works without signal. SLA management is also unverified, with Response Times the nearest native equivalent. And ask directly about portfolio rationalisation risk, given the rapid roll-up of AroFlo, BigChange, ClockShark and Delight alongside 2026 leadership turnover.
Typical use cases: commercial electrical and mechanical contracting with progress claims and retention; multi-company or franchise trade groups needing consolidated job costing; planned and asset maintenance programmes; and contractors in Australia or the UK where the US-focused competitors have thinner local support.

Frequently asked questions
Simpro, with an initial capital only, and the company is Simpro Group. That is the form the vendor uses across its own current page titles and press releases. The simPRO styling is historical and last appears prominently in the 2021 press release announcing growth investment from K1.
No. Simpro own published comparison content describes its pricing as custom, meaning it requires a quote. The pricing page itself could not be read because the vendor site refuses automated access.
Probably not. Simpro own comparison content positions it as having a higher learning curve and more platform than lean teams need, and Simpro Premium is aimed at large complex enterprises and franchises. Smaller operators should look at Jobber or Housecall Pro, or at AroFlo within the same group.
