Field Service Management Software · Field service for trades
ServiceTrade
by ServiceTrade, Inc.
Cloud service management for commercial contractors, specialising in fire protection and mechanical service. Genuinely documented core REST API and the deepest commercial ERP integration list among the contractor products here.
What it is
ServiceTrade is the most up-market of the contractor-focused products in this category, and it is explicit about who it sells to: commercial fire protection and mechanical contractors. Named segments are mechanical service, fire protection and life safety, commercial HVAC, electrical, refrigeration and kitchen exhaust cleaning. The product family is the ServiceTrade platform plus SalesManager for service agreement proposals and PartsManager for parts purchasing and inventory across trucks and warehouses, with the latter two likely licensed separately. ServiceTrade states that Mura is now part of ServiceTrade without giving a date; that combination closed at the end of June 2026 per the law firm advising Mura, which calls it a combination rather than an acquisition. The company is ServiceTrade, Inc., founded in 2012 by Billy Marshall and Brian Smithwick, and it took an 85 million dollar growth investment led by JMI Equity announced in December 2021. It still appears as a current JMI portfolio company, and no sale of the business was found.
Two things genuinely stand out. First, there is a real documented core REST API with a public reference, described as the complete reference for the ServiceTrade core REST API, plus a separate SalesManager API documentation set. Among contractor products that is rare and it is properly public rather than claimed. Second, the accounting and ERP integration list is the deepest in this group, covering QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics 365, plus Acumatica, Viewpoint Vista, Trimble Spectrum, Deltek ComputerEase, Foundation Software and several Sage editions, alongside compliance-specific tools like Building Reports and The Compliance Engine that matter specifically in fire protection.
The customer portal is also better than most: branded, delivered as a WordPress plugin ServiceTrade builds and maintains, and covering work history, assets, upcoming visits, quote approval, invoices and online payments rather than just job visibility.
- Offline is recorded as unknown, and it is a genuine gap. Neither the features index nor the mobile app page mentions offline working or signal loss anywhere. That is silence rather than a documented absence, so it is unknown rather than no, but among these products it is the clearest case of offline simply not being part of the vendor story.
- Pricing is quote-only and technician-count driven. Three suite tiers exist, Select, Premium and Enterprise, each with a Request pricing button and no figures, shown twice with different contents for commercial and mechanical service versus fire protection. Select includes unlimited office users, which is a meaningful detail.
- API app development is gated. Building apps for ServiceTrade customers requires Partner App review, developer terms and an approved Partner App Key, and developer.servicetrade.com redirects to a Google account sign-in, so that developer site is not publicly readable.
- Route optimisation is not stated anywhere on the pages opened, which is worth noting for a product sold into multi-site commercial inspection work where route density matters. It is recorded unknown rather than absent.
- Parts and inventory sit in a separate product. PartsManager handles purchasing and inventory across trucks and warehouses, and SalesManager handles service agreement proposals, so both are likely separate licence lines rather than included in the platform tiers. Price the suite, not just the platform.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.

This is silence rather than a documented absence, so it is recorded unknown and NOT as no. Among the products in this category it is the clearest case of offline not being part of the vendor story at all, so test it in a demo. |

| Note | Quote-only, technician-count driven. ServiceTrade states that pricing is driven mainly by the number of technicians you support, and that Select includes unlimited office users. Three suite tiers exist, Select, Premium and Enterprise, each with a Request pricing button and no figures. The tier set is shown twice, once for Commercial and Mechanical Service and once for Fire Protection, with different Premium and Enterprise contents between them. Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- A genuinely documented core REST API with a public reference, rare among contractor-focused field service products. verified source
- The deepest commercial accounting and ERP integration list in this group, including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365, Acumatica, Viewpoint Vista and Trimble Spectrum. verified source
- The customer portal covers quote approval and online payment, not just work history, and is a branded plugin ServiceTrade builds and maintains. verified source
- Clear specialisation in fire protection and life safety compliance work, including integrations with compliance reporting tools that general FSM products lack. editorial
Limitations
- No offline capability is stated anywhere on the mobile app or features pages, so connectivity-dependent working should be assumed until proven otherwise in a demo. verified source
- Three suite tiers, none priced, with cost driven by technician count, so budgeting requires a sales conversation. verified source
- API app development is gated behind Partner App review and an approved Partner App Key, and the developer site redirects to a Google account sign-in rather than being public. verified source
- Residential contractors and small operators are not the target, so the product will feel heavy and mis-aimed for that work. editorial
Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Medium, Enterprise
Good fit: mid-market and larger commercial contractors, especially fire protection and life safety businesses where inspection compliance reporting is the core workflow and integrations with Building Reports and The Compliance Engine matter directly. It is also the strongest fit in the contractor group for businesses running a real construction or commercial ERP, since NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365, Acumatica, Viewpoint and Trimble are all named. The documented REST API makes it a reasonable choice where custom integration is a requirement rather than a nice-to-have, and unlimited office users on Select helps businesses with large administrative teams.
Poor fit: residential contractors and small operators, who are not targeted and will find Jobber, Housecall Pro or FieldPulse better aligned. Also a poor fit where technicians routinely lose connectivity, because offline working is absent from the vendor story entirely and should be tested hard in a demo before committing. Buyers planning to build their own integrations should factor in the Partner App approval process and the fact that the developer site itself is behind a Google sign-in. Nothing is published on price, so budget for a sales-led evaluation driven by technician count.
Typical use cases: commercial fire protection inspection and deficiency repair programmes; mechanical and commercial HVAC service contracts; refrigeration service across multi-site customers; and kitchen exhaust cleaning businesses with recurring compliance obligations.
