Field Service Management Software · Field service for trades
ServiceTitan
by ServiceTitan, Inc.
Cloud software for residential and commercial trade contractors with an unusually broad footprint from call booking to job costing. Publicly listed on Nasdaq since December 2024. Per-technician pricing with no published figures.
What it is
ServiceTitan has the broadest functional footprint of any trades product in this category. It spans CRM and call booking, scheduling and dispatch with Dispatch Pro and Schedule Assistant, optimised routing, a technician mobile app, pricebook, estimates and proposals, memberships and service agreements, inventory and purchasing with truck replenishment, job costing, timesheets and payroll, crew management, a customer and client portal, and APIs. It covers residential and commercial trades across a very wide list including mechanical and HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, roofing, fire and life safety, garage door, septic, pest control, pool service and more, with separate Enterprise, Franchise, Private Equity and Construction solution tracks.
On corporate status: ServiceTitan is a publicly listed company. It is an SEC reporting company, CIK 0001638826, file number 001-42434, with 10-K filings in April 2025, March 2026 and a 10-K/A in September 2026. It listed on Nasdaq under the ticker TTAN in December 2024 at a reported 71 dollars per share. For a buyer this means audited financial visibility on vendor viability, which none of the privately held competitors in this category offer.
Pricing is quote-only, and this was verified rather than assumed. The ServiceTitan pricing page carries three named tiers, Starter, Essentials and The Works, with per-technician pricing described in words but no dollar amounts, no currency and no billing period. Every tier has a Request Pricing button. Package tier also gates functionality: API and Zapier access requires The Works or a legacy package.
- Offline is recorded as unknown because ServiceTitan contradicts itself. The marketing page states that the Field Mobile App and all its features are available in offline mode. ServiceTitan own help centre contradicts the words all its features: technicians can take most actions within the job offline, including notes, photos, forms, equipment and invoice items, and close out the job with sync on reconnect, but any actions requiring an internet connection such as getting directions are not available offline, pricing information for specific items is not available offline, Dynamic Pricing needs an internet connection, and automated timesheets are not shown offline. Substantial offline capability is real; the all-features claim is not.
- Zapier is beta and unsupported. ServiceTitan states it is in open beta and that Zapier functionality is not officially supported by ServiceTitan.
- Accounting coverage is the broadest in its group. ServiceTitan publishes setup documentation for QuickBooks Desktop and Online, Xero, Sage Intacct and a general CSV path, where most competitors here name QuickBooks alone.
- Workforce coverage is also unusually deep for a trades product, taking in timesheets, automated timesheets, office timesheets, timekeeping, payroll, crew management and adjustable capability planning as named features.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Documented API A publicly documented API for integration. | Yes | APIs are listed under Management and Insight and under Integrations, with a developer site linked. The help centre confirms API access is bundled with specific packages, namely The Works or legacy. CAVEAT: developer.servicetitan.io itself returned an effectively empty JavaScript shell and could not be read. source |
| Workforce and crew management Timesheets, crews, certifications and workforce administration. | Yes | Timesheets, Automated Timesheets, Timekeeping, Payroll, Crew Management and Adjustable Capability Planning. The broadest workforce coverage in the trades half of this category. source |
| GPS and vehicle tracking Vehicle or technician location tracking. | Yes | GPS Tracking, Real-time Technician Tracking and Fleet Pro. source |
| Invoicing and payments Invoicing from completed work and taking payment. | Yes | Multi-Party Billing, Progress Billing and Pay Applications, Online Bill Pay, and invoice summaries plus adding invoice items on mobile. source |
| Quoting and estimating Producing quotes and estimates for customer work. | Yes | Estimates, Proposals and Quotes, and Online Estimates and Proposals. source |
| Parts and inventory Parts consumption, van stock and inventory tracking. | Yes | Inventory, Inventory App, Purchasing and Inventory, and Truck Replenishment. source |
| Work order management Work order lifecycle from request to completion. | Yes | Work Order Management. source |
| Service contracts and agreements Recurring service agreements, entitlements and renewals. | Yes | Service Agreements, plus Memberships for residential. source |
| Customer portal A portal for customers to log and track jobs. | Yes | Customer Portal for commercial and Client Portal for client experience. source |
| Technician mobile app A dedicated mobile application for field technicians. | Yes | Field Mobile App, also called the Technician App. source |
| Route optimisation Optimising travel between jobs across a working day. | Yes | Optimized Routing listed under Front Office. source |
| Scheduling and optimisation Scheduling work against availability, skills and capacity. | Yes | Scheduling, Schedule Assistant and Scheduling Pro. source |
| Dispatch and assignment Assigning jobs to technicians and managing the dispatch board. | Yes | Dispatch, Dispatch Pro and Scheduling and Dispatch are named products. source |
| SLA management Measuring response and resolution against service levels. | Not verified | No SLA-specific feature was found. Service Agreements is contract management, not SLA target management, and was deliberately not mapped to this slug. |
| Offline working Creating and completing work with no connectivity, and syncing on reconnection. | Not verified | CONTRADICTION. The marketing page states the Field Mobile App and all its features are available in offline mode. ServiceTitan own help centre contradicts all its features: technicians can take most actions within the job offline including notes, photos, forms, equipment and invoice items, and close out the job with sync on reconnect, BUT any actions requiring an internet connection such as getting directions are not available offline, pricing information for specific items is not available offline, Dynamic Pricing needs an internet connection, and automated timesheets are not shown offline. Substantial offline capability is real, but the all-features claim is contradicted by the vendor, so this is recorded unknown. |

| Note | VERIFIED quote-only rather than assumed. The ServiceTitan pricing page was opened directly and carries no dollar amounts, no currency and no billing period. Three named tiers exist, Starter, Essentials and The Works, each with a Request Pricing button. ServiceTitan states that its per-technician pricing is designed to fit your business and goals at any size, so the licensing basis is per technician. IMPORTANT: package tier gates functionality, with API and Zapier access requiring The Works or a legacy package. No aggregator figure was used. Non-price marketing claims on the page, such as contractor counts and average revenue increase, are not verified and are not recorded. |

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Very broad functional footprint in one platform covering CRM, dispatch, optimised routing, mobile, inventory and purchasing, job costing, payroll, client portal and APIs. verified source
- Genuinely substantial offline mobile working for core job tasks including notes, photos, forms, equipment and invoice items, with closure and sync on reconnect. verified source
- Public, detailed help documentation including accounting integration setup for QuickBooks, Xero and Sage Intacct. verified source
- Public-company disclosure regime with 10-K filings gives buyers audited financial visibility on vendor viability, which privately held competitors here do not offer. verified source
Limitations
- No published pricing at all. Every tier is Request Pricing, verified by opening the pricing page directly. verified source
- API and Zapier access is gated to The Works or legacy packages, and Zapier is in open beta and explicitly not officially supported by ServiceTitan. verified source
- The offline claim is inconsistent between marketing, which says all features work offline, and the help centre, which excludes directions, item pricing, Dynamic Pricing and automated timesheets. verified source
- The platform is heavier than Jobber or Housecall Pro for the same single-truck work, so smaller operators may pay in complexity as well as licence cost. editorial
Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Small, Medium, Enterprise
Good fit: residential and commercial trades contractors who have outgrown a lightweight tool and want one platform rather than a stack. It is the only product in the trades half of this category with credible Enterprise, Franchise and private-equity-backed multi-location tracks, so it suits roll-ups and multi-brand operators where consolidated reporting across locations matters. The public-company disclosure regime is a genuine procurement advantage if vendor viability is part of your evaluation. Contractors whose accounting lives in QuickBooks, Xero or Sage Intacct are well served, with public setup documentation for all three.
Poor fit: anyone who needs to evaluate on price without a sales conversation, since nothing is published. Also a poor fit if API access is a requirement on a lower budget, because API and Zapier are gated to The Works or legacy packaging and Zapier is both beta and officially unsupported. Small single-truck operators will find the platform heavier than Jobber or Housecall Pro for the same work. And if your crews need item pricing or directions in dead zones, test it: those specifically do not work offline.
Typical use cases: multi-location HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors; commercial mechanical and fire and life safety businesses needing service agreements and job costing together; franchise networks; and private-equity-backed roll-ups consolidating several acquired trades businesses onto one platform.

Frequently asked questions
No, and this was verified by opening the pricing page rather than assumed. It publishes three tiers, Starter, Essentials and The Works, describes pricing as per technician, and shows no figures, no currency and no billing period. Every tier has a Request Pricing button.
Mostly yes for in-job work, including notes, photos, forms, equipment and invoice items, closing the job and syncing later. But directions, item pricing, Dynamic Pricing and automated timesheets do not work offline. Note that ServiceTitan marketing claims all features work offline, which its own help centre contradicts, so this profile records offline as unknown and lists the real exclusions.
