What it is

FieldPulse is field service management for US residential trades contractors and franchises, covering scheduling and dispatch, work orders, estimates and invoices, job costing, inventory, a customer portal, maintenance agreements and a pricebook, plus AI add-ons including an Operator AI dispatcher and a Maverick office assistant. The vendor states it was established in 2015 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with US-based support, and third-party trade press corroborates both the 2015 founding and the Dallas base. Target trades are listed as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, garage door, locksmith, appliance repair, septic, fire and security, property management and audio visual. The legal entity is Flicent Inc., trading as FieldPulse. It is growth-equity backed and operating independently, with no acquisition found: a 21 million dollar Series B in October 2023 and a 50 million dollar Series C in August 2025, both led by Fulcrum Equity Partners, with Catalyst Investors joining at Series C. Whether Fulcrum holds control is not stated by any source read.

Its offline documentation is the best of the small-contractor group, and it is specific about mechanism rather than just asserting the capability. FieldPulse states that the team keeps working in the field when signal drops, that when the device hits weak signal or switches to Airplane Mode the app moves to Offline Mode on its own, and that anything a technician enters offline saves locally and syncs the second they are back in signal. Automatic switching plus local save and sync is a materially stronger claim than Housecall Pro read-only caching, and it avoids the contradictions that make Jobber and ServiceTitan offline status unknown.

Pricing is not published, which contradicts the usual expectation for this tier. FieldPulse states that it is seat-based and that pricing is built around what your team needs, with a Get a Custom Quote call to action. No named or priced tiers exist. The pricing page lists optional premium products without prices: Engage, Operator AI, Chat AI, Pricebook, FieldPulse Payments, FieldPulse Financing, Fleet Tracking and Custom Forms, with Maverick stated as included on all plans. So a number of capabilities that read as core, including payments, fleet tracking and custom forms, are paid add-ons.

  • Only QuickBooks is named as an accounting integration. Xero is not on the partners page, and neither are Zapier, Stripe or Twilio. The named partner list is otherwise lead generation, payments and trade supply: Wisetack, CompanyCam, NiceJob, Azuga, CardConnect, Clover Connect, Payrix, Acorn Finance, Angi, Thumbtack, Trane, Reece HVAC and others.
  • The API is asserted but undocumented. The partners page says technology partners can use an open API, but no public developer or API documentation URL was found, so this is recorded as unknown rather than yes.
  • Free trial could not be resolved. Both the pricing page and the FAQ carry the question of whether FieldPulse offers a free trial, but the answer renders client-side and did not load, so it is recorded unknown.

Capabilities

Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.

CapabilityStatusNotes

Quoting and estimating Producing quotes and estimates for customer work. Yes Estimates and invoices. source

Offline working Creating and completing work with no connectivity, and syncing on reconnection. Yes STRONGEST OFFLINE EVIDENCE among the small-contractor products here, and specific about mechanism. FieldPulse states the team keeps working when signal drops, that when the device hits weak signal or switches to Airplane Mode the app moves to Offline Mode on its own, and that anything entered offline saves locally and syncs the second the technician is back in signal. Automatic switching plus local save and sync, not read-only caching. source
Technician mobile app A dedicated mobile application for field technicians. Yes Links to Apple App Store and Google Play listings. source
Route optimisation Optimising travel between jobs across a working day. Yes Scheduling and routing is a named feature. LABEL ONLY: no mechanism is described on the pages opened. source

NoteSeat-based but quote-only. FieldPulse states it is seat-based and that pricing is built around what your team needs, with the Engage add-on described as line and licence-based. No figure appears anywhere on the pricing page and there are no named or priced tiers; the call to action is Get a Custom Quote. ADD-ONS THAT MATTER: the page lists Engage, Operator AI, Chat AI, Pricebook, FieldPulse Payments, FieldPulse Financing, Fleet Tracking and Custom Forms as optional premium products, all unpriced, with Maverick stated as included on all plans. free_trial is unknown rather than no: both the pricing page and the FAQ carry the question of whether a free trial is offered, but the answer renders client-side and did not load, so it could not be read. This is the single item most likely to resolve to yes on a re-check.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Explicit, mechanism-level offline mode including automatic switching to offline on weak signal or Airplane Mode, with local save and sync on reconnection. verified source
  • Broad native functional footprint for this tier, including a customer portal, maintenance agreements, inventory, job costing and a pricebook. verified source
  • Strong fit for residential trades businesses that want one system rather than assembling best-of-breed parts. editorial

Limitations

  • No published pricing at all; the model is seat-based but quote-only. verified source
  • Many core-sounding capabilities are paid add-ons, including Payments, Fleet Tracking, Custom Forms and Operator AI. verified source
  • Only QuickBooks is named as an accounting integration; Xero is not on the partners page. verified source
  • An open API is claimed on the partners page but no public API documentation could be found, which makes integration risk hard to assess before signing. editorial

Who it suits

Organisation sizes: Small, Medium

Good fit: US residential trades businesses, small through mid-size, including franchise operations, that want one system rather than best-of-breed parts. The native footprint is broad for this tier, taking in a customer portal, maintenance agreements, inventory, job costing and a pricebook without bolting on third-party tools. It is the strongest choice among the small-contractor products specifically where crews lose signal, because the offline behaviour is documented mechanically, switches automatically and saves locally rather than merely caching jobs for reading. QuickBooks-centric businesses are well served.

Poor fit: anyone who needs to evaluate on published price, since nothing is published and the route is a custom quote. Also a poor fit for Xero users, since only QuickBooks is named, and for businesses outside the US, given the US-based support and US trade focus. Buyers should price the add-ons explicitly rather than assuming the seat rate covers payments, fleet tracking, custom forms or the AI products, because the pricing page lists all of those separately. If integration risk matters, note that no public API documentation could be found despite an open API being claimed.

Typical use cases: residential HVAC, electrical and plumbing contractors wanting maintenance agreements and a customer portal in the same system as dispatch; garage door, locksmith and appliance repair businesses; and franchise groups needing consistent process across locations.

Alternatives

Housecall Pro Housecall Pro The fully priced alternative, from 59 per month billed annually with the currency stated as USD and a 14-day no-card trial, where FieldPulse publishes nothing. Comparable residential trades scope with Recurring Service Plans, but its offline is read-only caching and editing offline is explicitly unsupported.
Jobber Jobber A cheaper, fully self-serve option for very small teams, published from 29 per month with a documented GraphQL API and Xero support, which FieldPulse lacks. You give up the best offline story in this tier, because Jobber own sources contradict each other on offline.
Zuper Zuper Inc. The alternative for Xero users and for roofing and exterior trades, with the widest named integration surface in this group and a portal exposing contracts and assets. Its offline evidence is the thinnest in the category, so this is a downgrade if dead-zone working is why you shortlisted FieldPulse.
FieldEdge Xplor Technologies A multi-truck alternative with real-time two-way QuickBooks sync across Desktop and Online and properly built service agreements. Also quote-only, and it states outright that it offers no free trial. Offline is undocumented, which is the main thing you would be giving up.
BigChange BigChange Group Ltd (Simpro Group) For UK and European contractors rather than US residential trades, and the only other product in this tier with clearly scoped offline working plus mechanically described automatic route optimisation. Xero and Sage rather than QuickBooks, and inventory is not a named feature.

Compared with other products

Frequently asked questions

Yes, and FieldPulse is unusually specific about how. It states that when the device hits weak signal or switches to Airplane Mode the app moves to Offline Mode on its own, and that anything a technician enters offline saves locally and syncs as soon as they are back in signal. That is stronger than the read-only caching some competitors offer at this tier.

No. FieldPulse states that pricing is seat-based and built around what your team needs, and routes to a custom quote. There are no named or priced tiers, and a number of premium products including Payments, Fleet Tracking, Custom Forms and Operator AI are listed as separate add-ons without prices.

QuickBooks is the one named on the partners page. Xero is not listed there, so Xero users should confirm support directly before buying.
