ServiceTitan vs Simpro
Both of these sit at the upper end of the trades and contractor market: platforms for businesses that have outgrown a lightweight tool, not products for a one-truck operator. Neither publishes a price. Both are quote-only, and that was verified rather than assumed in the ServiceTitan case by opening the pricing page directly.
The Simpro side of this comparison is the weakest record in the whole category, and the cause is a total block. simprogroup.com returns HTTP 403 to automated fetches on every path tried, including the root, the US path and the features page, and help.simprogroup.com redirects back into it. Every Simpro fact here rests on vendor-authored page titles and snippets returned by domain-restricted search rather than on pages read. No Simpro pricing page, feature page, integration list, API documentation or offline statement could be read. The practical consequences are stark: zero integrations are recorded for Simpro, not one, including the accounting integrations its commercial page refers to generically without naming a product, and offline, route optimisation, customer portal, GPS tracking, SLA management and a documented API are all unverified. Again, that is a crawler-access outcome rather than a product verdict, and anyone shortlisting Simpro should re-check it manually in a browser. ServiceTitan, by contrast, has a public and detailed help centre that carried most of the evidence here.
One naming note: the vendor writes it Simpro, initial capital only, with the company as Simpro Group. The older simPRO styling is historical and last appears prominently in a 2021 press release. Use Simpro.

Full profileThe main differences
ServiceTitan: the broadest trades footprint, and audited financials
ServiceTitan spans CRM and call booking, scheduling and dispatch with Dispatch Pro and Schedule Assistant, optimised routing, a technician mobile app, pricebook, estimates and proposals, memberships and service agreements, inventory and purchasing with truck replenishment, job costing, timesheets and payroll, crew management, a customer and client portal, and APIs. Trade coverage is very wide, and there are separate Enterprise, Franchise, Private Equity and Construction solution tracks, which makes it the only product in the trades half of this category with a credible answer for roll-ups and multi-brand operators. Workforce coverage is the deepest in its group, taking in timesheets, automated timesheets, office timesheets, timekeeping, payroll, crew management and adjustable capability planning. Accounting coverage is also the broadest here, with public setup documentation for QuickBooks Desktop and Online, Xero, Sage Intacct and a CSV path.
ServiceTitan is also a publicly listed company: an SEC reporting company, CIK 0001638826, file number 001-42434, with 10-K filings in April 2025, March 2026 and a 10-K/A in September 2026, listed on Nasdaq under TTAN in December 2024 at a reported 71 dollars per share. If vendor viability forms part of your evaluation, that audited visibility is something no privately held competitor in this category offers.
Two commercial cautions. Pricing is per technician and entirely quote-based: three named tiers, Starter, Essentials and The Works, every one with a Request Pricing button and no figures, no currency and no billing period. And package tier gates functionality, with API and Zapier access requiring The Works or a legacy package. Zapier itself is in open beta and ServiceTitan states it is not officially supported.
ServiceTitan offline: real capability, overstated claim
ServiceTitan contradicts itself, so offline is recorded as unverified. The marketing page states the Field Mobile App and all its features are available in offline mode. ServiceTitan own help centre contradicts the words all its features: technicians can take most actions within the job offline, including notes, photos, forms, equipment and invoice items, and close out the job with sync on reconnect, but any actions requiring an internet connection such as getting directions are not available offline, pricing information for specific items is not available offline, Dynamic Pricing needs an internet connection, and automated timesheets are not shown offline. Substantial offline capability is real here. The all-features claim is not, and this directory reports both statements rather than resolving them in the vendor favour.
Simpro offline could not be assessed at all. No vendor offline statement could be read, the Google Play description was not retrievable and the vendor site is blocked, so it is unverified rather than absent.
Simpro: project contracting depth, and a vendor admission
What is verifiable describes a product aimed higher than Jobber or Housecall Pro: estimating and quoting, scheduling and dispatch, mobile job execution, inventory, invoicing, payments, job costing, project management, asset maintenance and reporting. The commercial contracting depth is the real differentiator. Progress billing, retention management and materials price monitoring are functionality that lighter field service tools simply do not have, and if you invoice against progress claims and hold retention, most products in this half of the category cannot help you. Simpro Premium is aimed at large complex enterprises and franchises and at multi-company trades. International coverage is a second advantage: group material cites presence across the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom, which distinguishes it from the US-centric ServiceTitan, FieldEdge and Service Fusion. Lightning, an AI operating layer with an assistant called Cooper, launched in May 2026 across Simpro, AroFlo and BigChange.
Simpro own comparison content concedes the learning curve, flagging it as having a higher learning curve and more platform than lean teams need. That vendor admission is worth more than most commentary.

| Documented API | Yes APIs are listed under Management and Insight and under Integrations, with a developer site linked. The help centre confirms API access is bundled with specific packages, namely The Works or legacy. CAVEAT: developer.servicetitan.io itself returned an effectively empty JavaScript shell and could not be read. source | Yes QUALIFIED. The vendor help-guide index lists API FAQs and its footer links a Developer Center at developer.simprogroup.com, so a developer programme demonstrably exists. The documentation itself could NOT be read: both developer.simprogroup.com and its /apidoc/ path returned HTTP 403. A third-party integration platform states the API is reached through an OAuth app inside your Simpro build. No vendor statement on REST versus other styles, and no webhook support, could be verified. source |
| Workforce and crew management | Yes Timesheets, Automated Timesheets, Timekeeping, Payroll, Crew Management and Adjustable Capability Planning. The broadest workforce coverage in the trades half of this category. source | Yes Track labour hours and cost. Group also owns ClockShark, a time-tracking product. source |
| SLA management | Not verified No SLA-specific feature was found. Service Agreements is contract management, not SLA target management, and was deliberately not mapped to this slug. | Not verified The term SLA does not appear anywhere in the vendor help-guide index. The nearest native feature is Response Times, for setting response times for service work, which was deliberately not mapped to this slug. |
| GPS and vehicle tracking | Yes GPS Tracking, Real-time Technician Tracking and Fleet Pro. source | Yes Named in the vendor help-guide index: GPS Time Tracking in Simpro Mobile captures time automatically from technician location, plus Simtrac for fleet vehicle tracking with live vehicle positions on a map. source |
| Invoicing and payments | Yes Multi-Party Billing, Progress Billing and Pay Applications, Online Bill Pay, and invoice summaries plus adding invoice items on mobile. source | Yes Invoicing and payments, plus managing progress billing. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Quoting and estimating | Yes Estimates, Proposals and Quotes, and Online Estimates and Proposals. source | Yes Estimating and quoting. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Parts and inventory | Yes Inventory, Inventory App, Purchasing and Inventory, and Truck Replenishment. source | Yes Inventory, plus identifying best value materials and monitoring price increases. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Work order management | Yes Work Order Management. source | Yes Job management across mobile job execution and job costing. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Service contracts and agreements | Yes Service Agreements, plus Memberships for residential. source | Yes PARTIAL. Asset maintenance is named, which evidences maintenance contract and asset servicing rather than a named service contracts module. Vendor snippet level. source |
| Customer portal | Yes Customer Portal for commercial and Client Portal for client experience. source | Yes Named in the vendor help-guide index: How to Set Up the Customer Portal, giving customers self-service access to their jobs and invoices. Sibling employee and contractor portals are also listed. source |
| Offline working | Not verified CONTRADICTION. The marketing page states the Field Mobile App and all its features are available in offline mode. ServiceTitan own help centre contradicts all its features: technicians can take most actions within the job offline including notes, photos, forms, equipment and invoice items, and close out the job with sync on reconnect, BUT any actions requiring an internet connection such as getting directions are not available offline, pricing information for specific items is not available offline, Dynamic Pricing needs an internet connection, and automated timesheets are not shown offline. Substantial offline capability is real, but the all-features claim is contradicted by the vendor, so this is recorded unknown. | Not verified LABEL ONLY, so held at unknown. The one readable affirmative statement is a two-word feature bullet, Offline functionality, in the Apple App Store listing published by Simpro Software Pty Ltd, with no scope or limits. A Simpro help-guide page on mobile FAQs does appear to describe offline behaviour, but its body is JavaScript-rendered and could not be read, and the help-guide index confirms there is no dedicated offline page. Per the same standard applied to other products here, a bare feature label without any description of what works offline is not treated as verification. |
| Technician mobile app | Yes Field Mobile App, also called the Technician App. source | Yes Mobile job execution, with web and mobile apps. The app exists as Simpro Mobile on Google Play, where the title was readable but the description was not. source |
| Route optimisation | Yes Optimized Routing listed under Front Office. source | Not verified NOT a named native Simpro feature in the vendor help-guide index. The nearest native pages are Run Sheets and Zones, which group sites geographically for scheduling. Route optimisation is instead supplied by a partner app, eLogii, listed on the Simpro marketplace. Recorded unknown for the product itself rather than yes on a partner app. |
| Scheduling and optimisation | Yes Scheduling, Schedule Assistant and Scheduling Pro. source | Yes Scheduling and dispatch. Vendor snippet level evidence; page returned 403. source |
| Dispatch and assignment | Yes Dispatch, Dispatch Pro and Scheduling and Dispatch are named products. source | Yes Scheduling and dispatch. Evidence is vendor page title and snippet level; the page itself returned 403. source |

Read the full assessmentWhich to choose
If you are a US residential or commercial trades business consolidating onto one platform, especially a franchise network or a private-equity-backed roll-up, ServiceTitan is the better-evidenced and better-documented choice, and the public filings make vendor diligence straightforward. If you do project and contract work with progress claims and retention, or you operate in Australia or the UK, Simpro is the structurally better fit despite the thin public record.
Be clear-eyed about what you cannot learn in advance on the Simpro side. Treat every integration requirement as an open question, because not one integration could be recorded with a source. Ask directly about portfolio-rationalisation risk given the rapid roll-up of AroFlo, BigChange, ClockShark and Delight alongside 2026 leadership turnover, and note that Simpro Group also owns BigChange, which is profiled separately here. On the ServiceTitan side, confirm the package tier you are quoted, since API access depends on it, and test the specific offline exclusions if your crews need item pricing or directions in dead zones. For the underlying dispatch requirement itself, work order dispatch and scheduling software is useful background.
Frequently asked questions
Because simprogroup.com returns HTTP 403 to automated fetches on every path tried, and help.simprogroup.com redirects into it. All Simpro facts rest on vendor-authored page titles and snippets rather than pages read, and zero integrations could be recorded with a source. That is a vendor access policy, not evidence of a limited product. Re-verify Simpro manually in a browser before shortlisting.
Neither. ServiceTitan publishes three tiers, Starter, Essentials and The Works, with per-technician pricing described in words and no figures, no currency and no billing period, each with a Request Pricing button. Simpro own published comparison content describes its pricing as custom, meaning it requires a quote, and the pricing page itself could not be read.
Substantially, for in-job work: notes, photos, forms, equipment and invoice items, with job closure and sync on reconnect. But directions, item pricing, Dynamic Pricing and automated timesheets do not work offline. ServiceTitan marketing claims all features work offline, which its own help centre contradicts, so this directory records offline as unverified and lists the exclusions.
Neither, really. Simpro own comparison content positions it as having a higher learning curve and more platform than lean teams need, and ServiceTitan is heavier than Jobber or Housecall Pro for the same single-truck work. Smaller operators should look at Jobber, Housecall Pro or FieldPulse instead.
