IFS Ultimo vs Octave Attune EAM
Both are European-rooted asset management products aimed at asset-intensive operations, and both are notably reticent about publishing capability detail. The difference is tier: Ultimo is mid-market and reachable from five users, Attune EAM is an enterprise platform with a five-licence private offer as its entry route.

The products
IFS Ultimo
IFS
IFS's mid-market enterprise asset management product, acquired in 2022 and sold separately from IFS Cloud EAM, with maintenance, fleet, HSE and operations modules.
Full profileOctave Attune EAM
Octave
Cloud enterprise asset management for fleets, facilities, equipment and linear assets, sold previously as Infor EAM and then HxGN EAM, now owned by Octave.
Full profileThe main differences
Procurement. Attune EAM documents requisitions, quotes and purchase orders with a SAP-certified S/4HANA integration. For Ultimo, purchasing appears only in a customer quote and no module is documented, so it is unverified. A clear win for Attune.
Module breadth. Ultimo wins differently. Fleet, HSE, Infrastructure Assets, Medical and Operations modules alongside maintenance mean one platform can replace several systems in a mid-sized organisation. Attune EAM is deeper in asset management but does not go sideways like this.
API and integration. Attune EAM documents REST and SOAP with OpenAPI specifications and a sandbox. We found no public API documentation for Ultimo, only a claim of "extensive integration capabilities" and a client-side-rendered marketplace we could not read. Attune is the safer integration bet on current evidence.
Mobile. Attune EAM documents genuine offline execution on iOS and Android. Ultimo says technicians can access work orders from any device but names no app and no offline mode. Attune again.
Entry point and evaluation. Ultimo publishes edition entry points from five users; Attune publishes nothing and states there is no free trial. Neither publishes a price. Ultimo is the easier product to start small with.

Choose Octave Attune EAM if procurement, offline field execution or integration are central, or if you manage linear and geospatial assets. It is the better-evidenced product on nearly every capability we could check.
Choose IFS Ultimo if you are mid-market and the adjacency matters: consolidating maintenance, fleet and safety into one platform at a five-user entry point is a real saving that Attune EAM cannot match.
With both, require a written capability matrix. These are the two most under-documented products in the enterprise group and neither website will answer a serious requirement list.

Sources and review basis
Attribute values come from each product's structured profile rather than being written into this page, so a correction made once appears everywhere. This comparison was last reviewed on 7 November 2026. Assessment of this category is documentation-based, not hands-on testing of every product.
