Planon Integrated Workplace Management Solution Alternatives
Planon is one of the broadest integrated workplace management platforms in this directory. All fifteen capabilities tracked in the facility management category are verified for it, from asset lifecycle and reactive work orders through contract and SLA management, vendor and warranty management, space and lease accounting under both FASB and IASB, to bidirectional OpenBIM integration. That breadth is the reason buyers shortlist it, and it is also the reason some of them look for something else.
Three things typically send a buyer looking at alternatives. The first is assessability: Planon publishes no public documentation or release notes at all, so technical fit cannot be examined before purchase. If reading the docs is part of your evaluation, IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities and Archibus both publish without a login. The second is deployment. Planon verifies cloud, and on premise availability could not be verified from published sources, so a hard on premise requirement points to IBM, which verifies cloud, on premises and hybrid, or to Archibus, which markets a FedRAMP Authorized on premise IWMS. The third is platform risk: the Planon Universe brand has effectively been retired in public marketing, and the move to the Planon Platform requires existing customisations to be rebuilt as apps, which is real project work to scope before a renewal rather than after.
The closest alternatives by classification are Archibus, IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities, Nuvolo Connected Workplace and FMS:Workplace, all IWMS platforms with overlapping verified coverage. Nuvolo is the right answer when ServiceNow is already in place, with the caveat that ServiceNow licensing is an unpriced prerequisite. FMS:Workplace is the better fit where first party occupancy sensing and bidirectional CAD matter. If the requirement is really corporate real estate rather than operations, MRI ManhattanONE is a narrower option, though nine of its capabilities are unverified. If it is really maintenance, a CAFM or a cloud CMMS will be cheaper and faster, and our article on CAFM versus CMMS versus EAM versus IWMS explains which shape you are buying.
One thing no alternative changes: nobody in this category publishes a price. Planon is quote only, and so is every product listed beside it here, so cost comparison means running parallel quotes on a common requirement rather than reading rate cards.

The alternatives, and why they are here
Selected on capability and use case rather than on sharing a category label. Each entry says what actually differs.
Archibus by Eptura
Eptura
Archibus is a long established IWMS, now owned and marketed by Eptura, covering real estate and lease management, space planning, capital projects, asset management and maintenance, with a FedRAMP Authorized government offering and an on premise deployment option.
Why consider it: The closest platform-level comparison for space and portfolio at enterprise scale. Verified profile lives in the facility management category of this directory. Expect the decision to turn on platform breadth, data model and implementation partner rather than on workplace features. If Archibus is shortlisted, resolve why it rather than Serraview explicitly with Eptura, since both sit under Specialized Solutions with no published rule separating them.

Eptura Workplace
Eptura
Eptura Workplace is the former iOffice, renamed in 2023. A workplace and space led application covering floor plan management with AutoCAD, block and stack planning, move management, service request ticketing and utilisation analytics.
Why consider it: The other platform route into workplace and space, formerly iOFFICE and renamed in 2023, and one of several Eptura platform apps rather than the whole platform. Verified profile lives in the facility management category. The practical difference is portfolio shape: Planon presents one platform with modules, while the Eptura portfolio spreads workplace and space across several products that overlap, which is more work to scope.

Serraview
Eptura
Serraview is Eptura space and portfolio management software for large corporate real estate estates. It covers floor plan management, block and stack planning, team and neighbourhood allocation, chargeback, occupancy validation and utilisation reporting from badge and sensor data.
Why consider it: A specialist space and portfolio product rather than a platform module, with real depth: block and stack planning, space charge rules, workstation audits, allocation variance reporting, BOMA reports and a monthly occupancy validation cycle. What does not carry over is everything else an IWMS does. No booking experience is described, no maintenance or asset management, and you would be adding a vendor and an integration rather than extending one platform.

OfficeSpace
OfficeSpace Software Inc.
OfficeSpace is workplace and space management software covering desk and room booking, interactive floor plans, stack plans, moves adds and changes, visitor management, wayfinding and workplace analytics. The vendor now positions it as an AI operating system for workplace and facilities teams.
Why consider it: Worth considering when the real requirement is workplace rather than the whole estate: booking, floor plans, stack plans, moves adds and changes, visitor management, wayfinding and utilisation reporting in one dedicated product, generally lighter to implement than an IWMS. What does not carry over is platform breadth. Maintenance, assets, work orders and lease administration are not in scope, and no pricing is published.

What this page is not
This is not a ranking and there is no single best alternative. The right choice depends on what you are replacing and why, which is why each entry states a specific reason rather than a score. Capability values come from each product's structured profile, where anything unverified is labelled as such rather than assumed.
