What it is

The product name in the brief does not exist. Remote HR Management is not a name Remote uses anywhere that could be found. Two names are in play on Remote own properties: HR Core, or HR Core by Remote, on its current marketing product page, and Remote HRIS in its help centre. This entry uses HR Core as the name, since that is the current product page, and notes Remote HRIS as an alias. The naming inconsistency between marketing and support is itself worth knowing, because it makes support articles hard to match to product pages.

As with Deel, the category point comes first. An employer of record is a fundamentally different purchase from an HRIS. Remote primary business is legally employing people on your behalf in countries where you have no entity. HR Core is the HR layer bundled with that, not a standalone HRIS competing with BambooHR or Personio on price and features. Comparing them directly produces nonsense in both directions.

Verified capabilities include employee profiles with a lifecycle timeline and custom fields, documents and e-signature, time off with leave types and accruals per entity and location, time and attendance including on call and project tracking, expenses, onboarding and offboarding flows, employee self service with a mobile app, manager approvals and reporting line visibility, performance tracking stated on the HRIS overview page though not on the HR Core page, a partner API and customer API with an API reference, and mobile apps on the App Store and Google Play.

Remote publishes a genuinely unusual and useful limitation, and it deserves to be quoted. Its own help centre states that, unlike employer of record, an HRIS does not handle things like compliance, benefits or tax withholding for you. That is a rare case of a vendor explicitly scoping its HRIS out of compliance, and it is recorded here as a genuine negative for the HRIS only product scope rather than as unknown.

On the UAE, Remote names it and owns an entity there. Its UAE country explorer page states that Remote owns its own legal entity in the UAE and provides employer of record in house, with local payroll paid on time, plus UAE contractor payments. The same page names the UAE Wage Protection System, but only as an employer obligation, saying employers must ensure compliance with it. It does not say Remote files or handles WPS. So UAE payroll under EOR is yes, through Remote own UAE entity; WPS handling is unknown; and native payroll for a customer own UAE entity is unknown, since the Global Payroll country list could not be confirmed to include the UAE.

HR Core has no standalone price. Remote pricing page lists no HRIS line item and the HR Core page says it is included with every EOR, Payroll, Contractor or PEO licence. Do not call it free: the only free claim on Remote site relates to contractor management. Published platform figures, all starting at, all bare dollar signs except US PEO which states USD, are EOR 599 per employee per month on annual contracts, Global Payroll 29, Contractor Management 29, Contractor Management Plus 99, Contractor of Record 325 and US PEO 99.

Capabilities

Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.

CapabilityStatusNotes
Mobile app A mobile application for employees and managers. Yes App Store and Google Play links. source
Documented API A publicly documented API for integration. Yes A partner API and a customer API with an API reference. Remote does not print the word REST. source
Manager self-service Managers approving and viewing their team data. Yes Manager approvals, reporting line visibility and permissions, with tasks completable on mobile. source
Employee self-service Employees maintaining their own data and requests. Yes Employee self serve, with an employee mobile app. source
Performance management Goals, reviews and appraisal cycles. Yes Stated on the HRIS overview page as tracking and improving employee performance. Not stated on the HR Core page. source
Onboarding Structured onboarding workflows and document collection. Yes Onboarding and offboarding flows. source
Leave management Leave entitlement, accrual, requests and approvals. Yes Time off with leave types and accruals per entity and location. source
Time and attendance Clocking, shift patterns and overtime calculation. Yes Time and attendance and time tracking including on call and project tracking. source
UAE and GCC payroll Payroll specifically supporting UAE or GCC requirements, named by the vendor. Not inferred from global coverage claims. Yes Yes, but under the employer of record model. Remote states it owns its own legal entity in the UAE and provides EOR in house with local payroll paid on time, plus UAE contractor payments. The same page names the UAE Wage Protection System only as an employer obligation and does not say Remote files or handles WPS, so WPS handling is unknown. Native payroll for a customer own UAE entity is also unknown, since Global Payroll country coverage for the UAE could not be confirmed. source
Payroll processing Native payroll calculation and payment runs, in at least one jurisdiction. Yes Global Payroll is a separately priced product on the platform. source
Employee records A central employee record with history and documents. Yes Profiles with lifecycle timeline and custom fields. source
Compliance and reporting Statutory reporting and compliance documentation. No Recorded as a genuine no for the HRIS only product scope, on Remote own statement that unlike employer of record, an HRIS does not handle things like compliance, benefits or tax withholding for you. Compliance is handled under the EOR service, not by HR Core. source
Workforce planning Headcount planning, org modelling and forecasting. Not verified Headcount monitoring and reporting only; no planning claim.
Benefits administration Benefit plans, enrolment and deductions. Not verified Benefits are included in the EOR service, not described as an HR Core module, and Remote own help centre says an HRIS does not handle benefits for you.
Learning management Course delivery, assignment and completion tracking. Not verified Not found.
Recruitment and ATS Vacancy management and applicant tracking. Not verified Not on the pages opened. A Greenhouse integration exists, which is ATS integration rather than an own module.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Remote states that it owns its own legal entity in the UAE and provides employer of record in house, with local payroll, which removes a layer of intermediation compared with partner delivered EOR. verified source

Limitations

  • Remote own help centre states that, unlike employer of record, an HRIS does not handle compliance, benefits or tax withholding for you, so HR Core scope is narrower than an HRIS buyer might assume. verified source
  • HR Core has no standalone price and cannot be bought alone. It is bundled with an EOR, payroll, contractor or PEO licence. verified source
  • Remote names the UAE Wage Protection System only as the employer obligation. There is no statement that Remote produces or submits WPS files. verified source
  • Naming is inconsistent between marketing, which says HR Core, and the help centre, which says Remote HRIS, which makes support material harder to match to the product you bought. editorial

Who it suits

Organisation sizes: Not stated

Remote fits companies that need to employ people in countries where they have no entity, and that want the HR administration for those people in the same system. For a UAE specific case it has a real advantage worth knowing: Remote states it owns its own legal entity in the UAE and delivers EOR in house rather than through a local partner. For a company hiring its first few people in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, that reduces the number of parties in the chain.

It is the wrong purchase in two situations. First, if you already have a UAE entity and a payroll to run, EOR is not what you need and Remote Global Payroll coverage of the UAE could not be confirmed. Second, if what you want is an HRIS, Remote own documentation says the HRIS does not handle compliance, benefits or tax withholding, and HR Core cannot be bought on its own: it comes bundled with an EOR, payroll, contractor or PEO licence. A buyer wanting pure HR software should look at the HRIS products in this category instead.

Two further practical points. There is no evidence Remote handles UAE WPS submissions; it names WPS only as the employer obligation, so if you are relying on Remote as EOR, establish who produces and submits the salary information file. And the HR Core versus Remote HRIS naming split between marketing and support means you should check which product a given help article actually describes.

Typical use cases: companies hiring a small number of people in the UAE or other countries without setting up entities; organisations managing contractors across many countries; employers wanting EOR workers and contractors in one HR directory. Less typical: established UAE entities needing WPS compliant monthly payroll, and anyone wanting to buy HR software on its own.

Alternatives

Deel HR Deel The direct competitor across both the employer of record and the HRIS layer, and unlike HR Core the HRIS tiers can be bought with published figures: Core 5, Advanced 19 and Elite 29 per person per month, USD inferred from a bare dollar sign. Deel own pages contradict each other on whether Deel HR is free, and that contradiction is published here rather than resolved.
BambooHR BambooHR The standalone HRIS alternative if what you want is the HR record rather than employment services, since HR Core cannot be bought on its own. BambooHR publishes 10, 17 and 25 USD per employee per month. Note that its own Global Employment add on is powered by Remote, so the two already appear together in the market.
Rippling Rippling A full platform for a company employing through its own entities, with a published starting price of 8 per employee per month plus a base fee. It does not replace an employer of record: Remote itself states that unlike an EOR, an HRIS does not handle compliance, benefits or tax withholding for you, which is why HR Core compliance is recorded as a genuine no for the HRIS only scope.
Bob HiBob (Hi Bob, Inc.) A standalone mid market HRIS with an open API, suitable where HR Core bundling is the obstacle. No published price, and native payroll is US and UK only with Payroll Hub an integration layer rather than a payroll engine, so it carries no Gulf payroll capability.
Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Oracle Corporation For a company with its own UAE entity that wants the statutory work done in the system rather than outsourced to an employer of record, Oracle is the only product here with documentation for a UAE Wage Protection System report and the monthly salary information file. Remote mentions WPS only as an employer obligation.

Frequently asked questions

Remote current marketing page calls it HR Core, or HR Core by Remote. Its help centre calls it Remote HRIS. There is no product called Remote HR Management. This entry uses HR Core and treats Remote HRIS as an alias.

Not on the published evidence. Remote pricing page lists no HRIS line item and no price for it, and the HR Core page says it is included with every EOR, Payroll, Contractor or PEO licence, so it is bundled rather than free. The only free claim on Remote site concerns contractor management.

Unknown. Remote states that it owns a UAE legal entity and runs local payroll under employer of record, which is strong UAE evidence. But it names the Wage Protection System only as something employers must comply with, and never says Remote files or produces WPS salary information files. Ask Remote directly who produces and submits the file.
