HRMS and HCM Software · HCM suite
Dayforce
by Dayforce, Inc.
Single platform global cloud HCM suite covering HR, payroll, workforce management, talent and analytics. Formerly Ceridian; taken private by Thoma Bravo in February 2026.
What it is
Two naming and ownership facts first, because the brief for this category had them only partly right. The company is now Dayforce, Inc., not Ceridian. Ceridian announced the brand change in October 2023, completed the legal name and brand change at the end of January 2024, and moved its ticker from CDAY to DAY on the NYSE and TSX effective 1 February 2024. Then, on 4 February 2026, Thoma Bravo completed its acquisition of Dayforce for approximately 12.3 billion US dollars at 70.00 US dollars per share in cash, and Dayforce stock ceased trading and was delisted from both the NYSE and the TSX. Dayforce is now a private, Thoma Bravo owned company. A minority co-investment by a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority was reported in trade press but is not named in Thoma Bravo own completion release, so treat the co-investor as third party reported only.
The current product name on Dayforce own homepage is the Dayforce Agentic HCM Platform, with modules named Dayforce HR, Dayforce Payroll, Dayforce Workforce Management, Dayforce Talent, Dayforce Reporting and Analytics and Dayforce AI, plus Dayforce Global Payroll, Dayforce Wallet, Dayforce Contingent Workforce Management, Dayforce Build and Strategic Workforce Planning. Talent covers recruiting, onboarding, performance management and learning on its own module page.
The UAE payroll position is the most important finding here, and it cuts against Dayforce. The Dayforce global payroll page claims payroll in over 200 countries and territories but names no country. More tellingly, its own FAQ lists the regions served as North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia or Australia, and the Middle East is omitted from that list. The page tells buyers to ask Dayforce whether their jurisdiction is covered, does not separate native from partner delivery beyond referring to international payroll professionals and partners, and never mentions the Wage Protection System. Country counts also conflict across Dayforce own regional sites: 200 plus on the global page, over 160 on one localised page and over 150 on the managed payroll page.
The only UAE touchpoint found was a customer anecdote in a 2024 investor press release, describing a contractor selecting Dayforce for employees including in the UAE. That URL returned HTTP 530 and could not be read directly, so it is not quoted or relied on here. It would in any case be a customer deployment anecdote rather than a stated capability.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.

| UAE and GCC payroll Payroll specifically supporting UAE or GCC requirements, named by the vendor. Not inferred from global coverage claims. | Not verified | Unknown, and the surrounding evidence is actively discouraging. The Dayforce global payroll page claims over 200 countries and territories without naming any, and its own FAQ lists the regions served as North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia or Australia, omitting the Middle East. WPS is never mentioned and the native versus partner split is undisclosed. The only UAE touchpoint found was a 2024 investor release customer anecdote whose URL returned HTTP 530 and which is not relied on here. |

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
None recorded.
Limitations
- Dayforce own global payroll FAQ lists the regions it serves and omits the Middle East, which is a material gap for a Gulf audience rather than merely a missing UAE claim. verified source
- Country coverage claims conflict across Dayforce own sites: over 200, over 160 and over 150 countries appear on different pages. verified source
- Dayforce was taken private by Thoma Bravo on 4 February 2026 and delisted from the NYSE and TSX, so public financial disclosure has ended. verified source
- Parts of the Dayforce developer reference are gated to developer network members and the public REST guide examples are dated, so integration evaluation requires vendor contact. verified source
Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Medium, Enterprise
Dayforce suits mid market and large employers who want HR, payroll and workforce management on one data model with a single continuous calculation engine, particularly those with hourly and shift workforces in North America and Europe. The single platform argument is real and is Dayforce main differentiator against suite plus partner architectures.
For a UAE or Gulf buyer, Dayforce is hard to recommend on published evidence, and the reason is specific rather than vague. Dayforce own global payroll FAQ enumerates the regions it serves and the Middle East is not among them. That is not merely an absence of a UAE claim, which is the usual situation in this category: it is a region list that excludes your region. Combined with no WPS mention and no disclosure of native versus partner delivery, a Gulf buyer should require written confirmation of UAE coverage before shortlisting, and should expect the answer to involve a partner.
Buyers should also factor in the post buyout picture. Dayforce is now private, public financial disclosure has ended with delisting, and a large debt package was reported as part of the transaction. That is not a reason to rule the product out, but it does mean roadmap and pricing commitments should be contractual rather than assumed. Parts of the developer documentation are also gated to developer network members, and the public REST guide examples are dated, so integration evaluation needs vendor contact.
Typical use cases: North American and European mid market to large employers with complex time and pay rules; organisations consolidating payroll and workforce management; employers wanting continuous pay calculation. Less typical: Gulf headquartered employers needing WPS output, and buyers who want to verify country coverage from public information.

Yes. Unknown, and the evidence leans against it. Dayforce claims over 200 countries and territories but names none, and its own global payroll FAQ lists the regions it serves without including the Middle East. The Wage Protection System is never mentioned. A Gulf buyer should get UAE coverage, and whether it is native or partner delivered, confirmed in writing.
