What it is

ADP Workforce Now is ADP core platform for midsized employers, extending to large ones, and is sold in three packages named Select, Plus and Premium. The product page names payroll with variance detection, real time calculations and automated tax compliance, HR and employee management, benefits administration and enrolment, candidate screening and hiring, time tracking, attendance and scheduling, and employee self service with pay details and PTO scheduling. Compliance claims cover tax compliance, multi state payroll and global payroll compliance.

Workforce Now is a North America product, and ADP says so itself. ADP own comparison article positions Workforce Now for organisations based in North America that may have small populations of fewer than 100 employees elsewhere, and directs large multinationals to ADP Lyric HCM instead. The same article states the user interface languages are US English, French Canadian and Spanish. There is no Arabic interface.

On UAE payroll, do not let ADP corporate footprint be mistaken for this product capability. The Workforce Now product page never mentions the UAE, the Middle East, the Gulf, the GCC or the Wage Protection System. It claims global payroll compliance in over 140 countries without naming any of them, and ADP own comparison article says Workforce Now payroll service covers more than 60 countries, again unnamed. Separately, ADP as a company does list the United Arab Emirates under Europe, Middle East and Africa in its worldwide directory, with Local Services linking to ADP Global Payroll, a different ADP product. Even there the evidence is a directory listing, not a stated UAE payroll or WPS capability. So: unknown for Workforce Now, and any UAE conversation with ADP will be about ADP Global Payroll or Lyric rather than this product.

Pricing is not published. Every package shows a Get Pricing button. There is no free version and no free trial, only a self guided demo and a customised demo.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

None recorded.

Limitations

  • ADP itself positions Workforce Now for organisations based in North America, suitable for only small populations of fewer than 100 employees elsewhere, and points multinationals to ADP Lyric HCM. verified source
  • Interface languages are US English, French Canadian and Spanish. There is no Arabic interface. verified source
  • No pricing is published for any of the three packages. verified source
  • Capability detail is packaged per tier and the public page does not say which features sit in which tier, so a requirements matrix cannot be sourced from public information. editorial

Who it suits

Organisation sizes: Medium, Enterprise

Workforce Now suits midsized to large employers whose workforce sits mainly in the United States and Canada and whose decisive requirement is reliable payroll with tax filing handled. ADP scale in US payroll tax is the product real argument, and the packaged tiers make it a straightforward buy for that profile.

For a Gulf headquartered employer this is the wrong ADP product, and ADP agrees. ADP own buyer guidance says Workforce Now is for organisations based in North America and points multinationals to ADP Lyric HCM. With no Arabic interface, no named UAE or GCC payroll and no WPS mention, a UAE buyer evaluating ADP should be looking at ADP Global Payroll or Lyric and should ask ADP in writing which entity delivers UAE payroll and whether WPS salary information files are produced.

Evaluators should also expect to negotiate blind on both price and scope. Nothing is published, and the public page does not say which features sit in which of the three tiers beyond a few examples, so feature by tier requirements cannot be confirmed from public information.

Typical use cases: US and Canadian midmarket employers consolidating payroll, HR, time and benefits; organisations with multi state payroll complexity; companies with a small number of staff outside North America. Less typical: Gulf based employers, organisations needing Arabic, and anyone needing a documented integration catalogue they can inspect before buying.

Alternatives

Paycor Paycor HCM, Inc., a Paychex company A US mid market payroll and HCM alternative, now a Paychex business unit after the acquisition completed on 14 April 2025. Verified capabilities include payroll with no stated run limit, time, recruiting, onboarding, learning and benefits. US only in compliance terms: fifty state payroll tax and ACA reporting, with no UAE, Gulf or WPS mention anywhere.
Paylocity Paylocity Holding Corporation Another US payroll led platform in the same bracket. Treat its short record here with care: every www.paylocity.com page returned an empty body, confirmed twice, so its capabilities rest on a developer portal only and API endpoint names were deliberately not converted into capability claims. Nothing supports UAE payroll.
Gusto Gusto A smaller, more focused US payroll and benefits product with open API documentation covering payroll, time off, onboarding and benefits. It is United States shaped throughout via W-2 and 1099 constructs, and no Gusto figure can be published because its pricing page returned 403 and its own blogs conflict on the top tier.
Dayforce Dayforce, Inc. An enterprise alternative for employers who have outgrown Workforce Now, which ADP itself positions for North America based organisations. Dayforce is Thoma Bravo owned since 4 February 2026 and its own global payroll FAQ omits the Middle East, so it is not a Gulf step up.
Payce Ramco Systems The alternative worth naming if the reason you are leaving Workforce Now is a Gulf entity. None of the ADP US compliance layer carries over, and Ramco Payce is the most specific UAE evidence in this category: WPS ready salary files, MoHRE approved bank routing, GPSSA contribution rules and UAE gratuity based end of service calculation.

Frequently asked questions

Not on any ADP statement about this product. The Workforce Now page never names the UAE, the Gulf, the GCC or the Wage Protection System, and its country claims are unnamed counts. ADP does serve the UAE as a company, but its worldwide directory routes UAE enquiries to ADP Global Payroll, a different product. Treat UAE payroll for Workforce Now as unknown and ask ADP which product and which entity would deliver it.

ADP Lyric HCM, launched in September 2024 and listed on ADP product catalogue under enterprise HCM for 1,000 plus employees. ADP Workforce Now remains the midmarket platform.
