IFS Cloud EAM Alternatives
The commonest reason to look past IFS Cloud EAM is not a capability gap, it is uncertainty. IFS publishes very little capability detail publicly and runs three overlapping asset products, IFS Cloud EAM, Ultimo and Copperleaf, so buyers often cannot establish what they are being offered or compare it properly.
If that is your position, the first step is not a different vendor. It is asking IFS for a written capability matrix naming the product. If that does not arrive, the alternatives below all publish more.

The alternatives, and why they are here
Selected on capability and use case rather than on sharing a category label. Each entry says what actually differs.
IBM Maximo Application Suite
IBM
IBM's enterprise asset management suite, combining maintenance, inspection, reliability and asset performance management, deployable as SaaS or on your own infrastructure.
Why consider it: The best-documented Tier 1 alternative: extensive public documentation, a published API catalogue, an entry price and a trial, with comparable deployment flexibility.

- Commercial
- Enterprise asset management
- USD 40,000 per year (Maximo Application Suite Essentials, Maintenance, from 150 AppPoints; IBM publishes this as "starting under")
Octave Attune EAM
Octave
Cloud enterprise asset management for fleets, facilities, equipment and linear assets, sold previously as Infor EAM and then HxGN EAM, now owned by Octave.
Why consider it: Comparable enterprise scope with documented procurement, offline mobile and a REST and SOAP API with a sandbox. Better evidenced than IFS on nearly every capability we could check.

- Commercial
- Enterprise asset management

IFS Ultimo
IFS
IFS's mid-market enterprise asset management product, acquired in 2022 and sold separately from IFS Cloud EAM, with maintenance, fleet, HSE and operations modules.
Why consider it: IFS's own mid-market product, and the one IFS itself points to for faster, smaller deployments. The right alternative if IFS Cloud EAM is simply too large for the problem.

- Commercial
- Hybrid EAM and CMMS
- Contact vendor for pricing
SAP S/4HANA Asset Management
SAP
SAP's asset maintenance capability inside S/4HANA, the successor to ECC Plant Maintenance, surrounded by Asset Performance Management and mobile field execution apps.
Why consider it: The alternative where S/4HANA is the system of record and ledger-native maintenance cost outweighs best-of-breed maintenance capability.
- Cloud, On-premises
- Commercial
- Enterprise asset management
- Contact vendor for pricing
Oracle Fusion Cloud Maintenance
Oracle
Oracle's cloud maintenance application inside Fusion Cloud SCM, managing internally owned and customer assets with work orders, meters and preventive forecasts on one data model.
Why consider it: The equivalent single-data-model option for a Fusion estate, with a documented REST API and quarterly evergreen releases.

- Commercial
- Enterprise asset management
- Contact vendor for pricing
What this page is not
This is not a ranking and there is no single best alternative. The right choice depends on what you are replacing and why, which is why each entry states a specific reason rather than a score. Capability values come from each product's structured profile, where anything unverified is labelled as such rather than assumed.
