GE Vernova Asset Performance Management Alternatives

GE Vernova Asset Performance Management is the product formerly sold as GE Digital APM and before that as Predix APM, and most people searching for alternatives to it are doing so for one of two reasons. Either the commercial shape does not fit, because there is no published price, no free tier and no self-serve path, or the predictive claim will not survive technical due diligence. GE Vernova states that the software can predict potential equipment failures but does not say what models are used, how much history they need, or which failure modes are covered. On that basis failure prediction and anomaly detection could not be verified from published sources for this product. That is not a statement that the capability is absent, but it does mean you cannot assess it from the website.

Start by deciding which half of GE Vernova APM you actually wanted. If it was the Meridium reliability and integrity heritage, asset strategy, risk based inspection and auditable method, then the reliability-modelling products are your shortlist and a condition-monitoring platform will not substitute. If it was early warning from live sensor data, you want the products where a detection or prediction mechanism is actually described, and a reliability-modelling tool will not substitute for that either. The two are not interchangeable and vendors in this category are not always careful about the difference.

One thing does carry over cleanly across almost every alternative listed here. GE Vernova requires no vendor sensors: it describes ingesting data from existing sensors, edge devices, IT and OT systems, EAM, CMMS and historians. Most of the credible alternatives are software over your existing data too, which means your instrumentation estate is not stranded by the switch. The exceptions in this category are the hardware-plus-service monitoring offerings, which are a different kind of purchase entirely and are flagged as such wherever they appear. No vendor in this category publishes a price, so expect a negotiated enterprise agreement whichever way you go, and ask every shortlisted vendor for the connector list and the modelling method in writing.

The alternatives, and why they are here

Selected on capability and use case rather than on sharing a category label. Each entry says what actually differs.

Honeywell Forge Asset Performance Management

Honeywell

View profile

Honeywell vendor-agnostic asset health and performance platform, currently marketed as Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Industrials Asset Performance. Combines first-principles efficiency models, machine-learning anomaly detection and mechanical fault monitoring. On-premises or cloud.

Why consider it: The closest like-for-like swap: a broad, modular, vendor-agnostic APM suite for heavy process industry, on-premises or cloud, and the one where the modelling method is actually described. Honeywell names a hybrid of first-principle efficiency models, machine-learning anomaly detection and mechanical fault monitoring, plus concrete failure modes, where GE Vernova asserts prediction without describing it. What does not carry over: Honeywell names no RCM method and its library coverage of unusual equipment is unpublished.

AssetWise Reliability

Bentley Systems

View profile

Reliability engineering and asset performance software for building proactive inspection and maintenance programmes, with named support for RCM2, FMEA, RBI and SIF plus asset condition assessment.

Why consider it: Right choice if what you actually wanted from GE Vernova was the asset strategy and integrity side rather than prediction. Bentley names RCM2, FMEA, RBI, SIF, MTA and CPR explicitly, and publishes real hosting, database and authentication detail. Not a substitute for condition monitoring: Bentley describes no anomaly detection, no failure prediction and no historian or SCADA ingestion, and names no integrations at all, so connecting it to your EAM is a project.

ABB Ability Genix APM

ABB

View profile

ABB asset performance management family on the Genix industrial analytics platform. The entry product, Genix APM Predict, is a condition monitoring system that aggregates electrical, vibration and process equipment data and deploys on-premises or in the cloud.

Why consider it: A smaller, more honestly scoped starting point for the same kind of estate. ABB requires no ABB hardware, runs on-premises or cloud, is available as SaaS or a perpetual licence, and can be added to incrementally. It is explicitly a condition monitoring system enabling a path to predictive maintenance, so it claims less than GE Vernova does. Connector detail is ABB-centric, with no third-party historian or OPC version named, and only the entry tier is publicly documented.

Predictive Asset Intelligence

SymphonyAI

View profile

SymphonyAI predictive maintenance and reliability product built on the IRIS Foundry platform. It works on data you already collect through more than one hundred pre-built connectors, with no vendor sensors required.

Why consider it: Stronger on the two things GE Vernova leaves generic: named integrations and shipped modelling structure. SymphonyAI names AVEVA PI System, AspenTech, SAP, SCADA and CMMS, claims more than one hundred pre-built connectors, and ships more than eighty thousand asset templates including FMEA libraries. It adds cloud, hybrid and edge deployment. Narrower in scope than GE Vernova, with no integrity or inspection module, and its failure prediction method is not published.

IBM Maximo Application Suite

IBM

View profile

IBM's enterprise asset management suite, combining maintenance, inspection, reliability and asset performance management, deployable as SaaS or on your own infrastructure.

Why consider it: Worth considering if you would rather have the APM layer and the work order engine from one vendor on one asset hierarchy. IBM Maximo Asset Performance Management names Condition Insight, RCM Strategy Builder with AI-assisted FMEA, Alert Insights and condition-based health scoring. It is a different commitment: you are adopting Maximo as the system of record, not adding a reliability layer above an EAM you already run.

  • USD 40,000 per year (Maximo Application Suite Essentials, Maintenance, from 150 AppPoints; IBM publishes this as "starting under")

What this page is not

This is not a ranking and there is no single best alternative. The right choice depends on what you are replacing and why, which is why each entry states a specific reason rather than a score. Capability values come from each product's structured profile, where anything unverified is labelled as such rather than assumed.
