Infor SX.e
by Infor
Infor SMB core ERP for wholesale distribution, named by Infor as the SMB ERP inside Infor CloudSuites for Distribution. Infor publishes no dedicated product page for it, and partner material pushes existing SX.e users toward the cloud suite.
What it is
Infor SX.e is the SMB half of what Infor markets as CloudSuite Distribution, and it has no product page of its own. Infor's distribution page, titled Infor CloudSuites for Distribution, names two core ERP products inside the suite: Infor M3 as the enterprise ERP and Infor SX.e as the SMB ERP. That is the vendor statement this profile rests on. Notably, the URL infor.com/solutions/erp/sx-e does not lead to an SX.e product page at all; it redirects to the same CloudSuites for Distribution content. So Infor names the product but does not market it separately with its own page, which is itself the most useful thing to know about it.
Treat this profile as thinner than its word count suggests, and read the capability notes carefully. Because there is no SX.e page, every capability recorded below is stated by Infor for the CloudSuites for Distribution of which SX.e is the SMB core ERP, not for SX.e in isolation. That distinction is real: a suite-level claim may be delivered by Infor WMS, Infor Birst, Infor Demand Planning, Infor CPQ or Infor Rhythm for Commerce rather than by the SX.e core, and each of those is a separately named Infor product that may be separately licensed. The suite-level claims are finance, procurement, HR and SCM within the distribution ERP; inventory; warehouse management through WMS; complex pricing models and supplier rebate management; multiple sites and companies; multiple currencies; AI-powered business intelligence and embedded analytics; and B2B ecommerce through Infor Rhythm for Commerce. Infor cites more than 4,000 distribution customers across the suite and names sub-industries including machinery and equipment, grocery, building materials, plumbing and HVAC, electrical, equipment rental, industrial supplies and auto parts.
Complex pricing and supplier rebate management is the detail worth noticing. In wholesale distribution those two functions, along with special pricing agreements and landed cost, are usually what decides whether an ERP actually fits, and they are frequently absent from general-purpose suites. Infor naming them explicitly is a genuine point in this suite's favour, even though it is a suite-level rather than an SX.e-level claim.
A caution a buyer should weigh. Third-party material casts some doubt on SX.e as a forward-looking choice. One software directory lists SX.e as discontinued and not actively maintained, says Infor no longer offers on-premises deployment for it, and tells readers interested in SX.e to consider CloudSuite Distribution instead. Infor partners publish migration content with titles such as reasons to move from Infor SX.e to Infor CloudSuite Distribution. None of that is an Infor statement and the directory claim directly contradicts Infor's own current page, which names SX.e as the SMB ERP and carries a 2026 copyright. The honest reading is that SX.e remains the named SMB core ERP but that the on-premises deployment of it is being moved into the cloud suite, and the status here is recorded as active on the strength of Infor's own page while flagging the conflict. Deployment is recorded as cloud yes and on-premises unknown for exactly this reason.
Ownership: Infor has been a standalone subsidiary of Koch Industries since 6 April 2020. No price is published.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Reporting and analytics Financial and operational reporting and analytics. | Yes | AI-powered business intelligence and embedded analytics at suite level, delivered in part by the separately named Infor Birst. source |
| Multi-currency Transacting and reporting in multiple currencies with revaluation. | Yes | Multiple currencies stated at suite level. source |
| Multi-company consolidation Multiple legal entities with intercompany and consolidation. | Yes | Multiple sites and companies stated at suite level. source |
| Inventory management Stock valuation, locations and movements. | Yes | Stated for the CloudSuites for Distribution, of which SX.e is the SMB core ERP, not for SX.e in isolation. Warehouse capability is delivered by the separately named Infor WMS. source |
| Purchasing and procurement Requisitions, purchase orders and goods receipt. | Yes | Procurement is stated at suite level, with complex pricing models and supplier rebate management also named. source |
| Mobile access Mobile application or responsive access for approvals and enquiry. | Not verified | Not stated as a capability on the suite page. |
| Documented API A publicly documented API for integration. | Not verified | No API is named. The suite page refers generally to integrating with third-party systems and to an integration iPaaS offering. |
| Tax and statutory compliance VAT, withholding and statutory reporting, including local regimes. | Not verified | Not mentioned. |
| HR and payroll Employee records and payroll, native or via integration. | Not verified | HR is listed as a word within the distribution ERP at suite level, but no module and no payroll capability is named, so this is unknown. |
| Project accounting Project costing, work in progress and revenue recognition. | Not verified | Not mentioned. |
| Manufacturing and production Bills of material, routings and production orders. | Not verified | Not claimed. This is a distribution product; Infor serves manufacturing with CloudSuite Industrial and Infor LN. |
| Fixed asset accounting Asset registers, depreciation and disposal accounting. | Not verified | Not mentioned. |
| Accounts receivable Customer invoicing, collections and credit control. | Not verified | Not mentioned. |
| Accounts payable Supplier invoices, approvals and payment runs. | Not verified | Not mentioned. |
| General ledger Core financial ledger with chart of accounts and journals. | Not verified | Finance is listed only as a word within the distribution ERP. No general ledger or accounting module is named, and there is no SX.e product page. |

| Note | No pricing figure is published. The suite page refers to a single flat fee for the Velocity Suite implementation offering without stating an amount, and its percentage and dollar figures are customer outcome claims. A separate Infor Three for Free programme offering SMB distributors three free user licences of CloudSuite Distribution was reported by trade press, but it is a limited-time promotion, was not verified on an Infor page, and is not a free version of the product, so free_version remains no. No price was taken from a review aggregator. |

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Named by Infor as the SMB core ERP in its distribution suite, with specific sub-industry coverage including machinery and equipment, grocery, building materials, plumbing and HVAC, electrical, equipment rental, industrial supplies and auto parts. verified source
- Complex pricing models and supplier rebate management are named explicitly, which are the functions that usually decide a wholesale distribution ERP and are often missing from general suites. verified source
Limitations
- Infor publishes no dedicated SX.e product page: the sx-e URL redirects to the suite page, so every capability claim here is suite level and may be delivered by separately licensed Infor products. verified source
- Third-party directories and Infor partner migration content treat SX.e as something to move off rather than onto, with one directory calling it discontinued and saying on-premises is no longer offered. That contradicts Infor s current page and needs resolving with Infor before any new purchase. editorial
Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Small, Medium
It fits well when:
- You are a small or mid-sized wholesale distributor. Infor names SX.e specifically as the SMB ERP in its distribution suite, with M3 reserved for enterprise.
- You are in one of the named sub-industries: machinery and equipment, grocery, building materials, plumbing and HVAC, electrical, equipment rental, industrial supplies or auto parts. That is a specific list and it reflects real sector depth rather than a generic distribution claim.
- Complex pricing and supplier rebates are central to your margins, which the suite names explicitly.
- You want warehouse management, demand planning, configure price quote and B2B ecommerce available from the same vendor, through Infor WMS, Demand Planning, CPQ and Rhythm for Commerce.
- You are an existing SX.e customer deciding what to do next, in which case the migration question below is the whole evaluation.
It fits badly when:
- You are an enterprise distributor. Infor points you at M3, which has its own profile here.
- You need on-premises deployment. Infor's suite page mentions no on-premises option and third-party sources say on-premises SX.e is no longer offered. Get this answered first.
- You are a manufacturer. This is a distribution product; Infor CloudSuite Industrial and Infor LN serve manufacturing.
- You need to evaluate from public documentation. There is no SX.e product page, so you cannot.
The questions that matter most for this product.
- Is SX.e the forward-looking choice, or a migration source? Ask Infor directly whether SX.e is sold to new customers today, what its roadmap is, and whether new SMB distributors are instead being placed on something else within the cloud suite. Third-party sources and partner migration content suggest the latter, and Infor's own page does not settle it.
- Which capabilities come from SX.e and which from other Infor products? Get the quote itemised, because WMS, Birst, Demand Planning, CPQ and Rhythm for Commerce are separately named products.
- Deployment and who operates it, plus migration terms if you run SX.e on your own infrastructure now.
- EDI with your named trading partners, which the suite page does not mention at all and which is where distribution ERP projects most often overrun.
- Finance detail, since finance is claimed only as a word within the distribution ERP and no accounting module is named.
Alternatives
Frequently asked questions
No. Infor does not sell a product called CloudSuite Distribution. Its page is titled Infor CloudSuites for Distribution and names Infor SX.e as the SMB core ERP within it and Infor M3 as the enterprise one. SX.e is the system an SMB distributor would actually run.
Infor s own current distribution page names SX.e as its SMB ERP, which is why the status here is active. But one third-party software directory lists SX.e as discontinued and not actively maintained, says on-premises deployment is no longer offered, and directs prospective buyers to CloudSuite Distribution instead, and Infor partners publish migration guides for moving off SX.e. Those are not Infor statements and they conflict with Infor s page. Ask Infor directly before buying.
Because Infor publishes no SX.e product page, so the only capability statements available describe the CloudSuites for Distribution as a whole. Some of those capabilities are delivered by separately named and potentially separately licensed Infor products such as Infor WMS, Infor Birst, Infor Demand Planning, Infor CPQ and Infor Rhythm for Commerce. Get any quote itemised.
Unresolved. Infor s suite page describes cloud-based suites on a true multi-tenant cloud environment and mentions no on-premises option, and third-party sources say on-premises SX.e is no longer offered. Recorded as unknown rather than no, because Infor makes no explicit negative statement.
