What it is

Zoho Analytics competes mainly on price and accessibility. It is markedly cheaper than the enterprise platforms, has a genuine free plan, and connects natively to the wider Zoho suite, which is the decisive factor for organisations already running Zoho CRM or Books.

The detail that matters most in an evaluation is how the plans are sized. Zoho meters on rows of data as well as users, and the steps are wide: the free plan is limited to 10,000 rows and two users, and the paid tiers step up through roughly half a million, one million, five million and fifty million rows. That shape rewards tidy, aggregated datasets and punishes pointing it at raw transactional history, so the row ceiling, not the seat count, is usually what forces an upgrade. Viewer licensing also has a stated minimum block rather than being bought one at a time.

Functionally it covers the ground a small or mid-sized business actually needs: connectors, a query builder, dashboards, scheduled distribution and an on-premises edition for those who want it.

It is not aimed at large governed deployments and does not pretend to be. Complex semantic modelling and enterprise-scale governance are outside its scope.

Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.

Who it suits

Organisation sizes: Small, Medium

Small and mid-sized businesses, particularly existing Zoho customers, wanting capable reporting at genuinely low cost. It suits teams whose reporting runs on aggregated data rather than raw transaction history, because the plans are metered on rows and that ceiling arrives before the seat count does.

Not a candidate for large enterprise BI standardisation, for governed semantic modelling across departments, or for estates where tens of millions of rows need to stay queryable at full detail.

Alternatives

Metabase Metabase Open source, free to self-host, with a similar audience.
Looker Studio Google Free, if reporting needs are light and mostly Google-sourced.
Microsoft Power BI Microsoft The step up for governance and scale.

Frequently asked questions

No. It connects to databases, files and third-party services independently. The integration with Zoho CRM, Books and Desk is a strong reason to choose it if you use them, not a precondition.
