PcVue
by ARC Informatique
ARC Informatique SCADA and HMI platform with smart buildings as a first listed vertical, carrying native BACnet, LonWorks, KNX, Modbus and SNMP drivers. Current major version PcVue 17.
What it is
PcVue is a general-purpose SCADA and HMI platform from ARC Informatique in Paris, branded as PcVue Solutions, with PcVue 17 announced as the current major version. The vendor describes itself as developing SCADA and BMS software for monitoring technical and industrial systems, and smart buildings is the first listed vertical alongside industry, water, infrastructure and transportation. That dual identity is why this profile classifies it as scada-hmi rather than a purpose-built BMS: it functions as a building supervisory platform, but its core identity, object model and engineering conventions come from industrial SCADA.
An ownership note for accuracy: ARC Informatique is the vendor, with the site footer carrying the ARC Informatique copyright and subsidiaries appearing as PcVue GmbH in Germany and PcVue Inc in the United States under an ARC Group umbrella. No evidence was found linking ARC Informatique to the Snef group, and that claim is not published here.
For buildings, the useful fact is the native driver set, stated on the smart buildings page: native support for the standard protocols BACnet, LonWorks, KNX, Modbus and SNMP. That is a wider building-protocol spread than several purpose-built head-ends manage, and it comes in one product rather than through gateways. Multi-building management is stated directly: PcVue can manage one or several buildings from a centralised system, with archived data held locally or in the cloud. Platform components named on the home page are PcVue as the HMI and SCADA core, WebVue as the web interface, FrontVue as a light interface, TouchVue as a notification app, SnapVue for digital remote assistance, and EmVue as a dedicated energy monitoring product using dashboards and trend tracking. Alongside those, ARC integrates best-of-breed partner platforms: Dream Report for advanced reporting, Alert for alarm management and Canary as a historian.
That partner model is both a strength and a caveat. It means capable reporting, alarming and historian functions are available, but they are third-party products with their own vendors and licences, which adds commercial and support complexity to a project compared with a single integrated head-end.
The real difficulty with PcVue is public verifiability. Key technical material sits behind a login: the main product page returned a please log in to view this content message, and the driver list, software development kit and ADO.NET data provider links sit inside that gated area. Two public product paths returned 404, and one product sub-page still referenced PcVue 12 while the home page announces PcVue 17, so the public web presence is inconsistent and partly stale. Consequently OPC UA could not be confirmed, because the buildings page prints only a truncated reference to OPC; MQTT, REST API, SQL Server and Azure appeared only as keyword tags on gated pages and are recorded as unknown; and no cybersecurity statement was found at all.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Native drivers for the full building protocol set in one product: BACnet, LonWorks, KNX, Modbus and SNMP. verified source
- Genuine multi-building centralisation, with one or several buildings managed from a centralised system and data archived locally or in the cloud. verified source
- A layered client story with WebVue browser access, FrontVue light interface, TouchVue notifications and SnapVue remote assistance, plus EmVue for energy monitoring. verified source
Limitations
- It is a general SCADA platform rather than a purpose-built BMS, so building-specific objects and HVAC sequences are not documented on the open site and buildings is one vertical among several. editorial
- Key technical documentation, including the driver list, SDK and data providers, sits behind a login, some public product pages return 404, and one sub-page still says PcVue 12 while the home page announces PcVue 17. editorial
- Several differentiators are third-party partner products: Dream Report for reporting, Alert for alarm management and Canary for historian, which adds vendors and licences to a project. verified source
Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Medium, Enterprise
Who it fits. Technically confident buyers and integrators who want one platform spanning buildings and infrastructure, for example a campus that also runs water, energy distribution or transport systems, where a pure BMS would need a second SCADA layer anyway. The native BACnet, LonWorks, KNX, Modbus and SNMP driver set makes it a credible answer for genuinely mixed legacy estates, and the layered client story, with a browser interface, a light interface, a notification app and remote assistance, suits distributed operations teams. EmVue gives a dedicated energy monitoring path.
Who it does not fit. Buyers who want building-specific objects, HVAC sequence libraries and out-of-the-box building applications, because none of that is documented on the open site and the platform identity is industrial SCADA. Buyers who need to evaluate documentation before engaging a vendor, since the driver list, SDK and product specifications are login gated. And buyers who need MQTT, OPC UA or cloud hosting confirmed in writing before shortlisting, since the public pages do not state them.
Typical use. Integrator-delivered supervisory projects across single buildings up to centralised multi-building and infrastructure estates, sold through ARC international integrator and distributor channel plus its own subsidiaries in Germany, the United States and Singapore, on quote-based licensing.
