Honeywell Forge Asset Performance Management Alternatives
Honeywell Forge Asset Performance Management, currently marketed as Honeywell Forge Performance+ for Industrials, Asset Performance, with Asset Sentinel as the on-premises version, is one of the better documented products in this category and one of only four with a verified failure-prediction record. Before comparing alternatives it is worth being clear about what you would be giving up. Honeywell describes a hybrid method rather than pure machine learning: first-principle efficiency models, machine-learning anomaly detection and mechanical fault monitoring applied together, with concrete named failure modes including boiler tube leakage, compressor lube oil system loss of pressure, remaining useful life of a positive displacement pump and remaining corrosion allowance in crude distillation units. It also ships a library of over forty asset types and more than one hundred variants containing predefined fault models, fault trees, KPIs, causes, consequences and corrective actions, and it names a CMMS work order integration module.
Two gaps drive most searches for alternatives. The first is coverage: a model-led product is only as good as its coverage of your equipment, and Honeywell publishes the library size without publishing which asset types are in it, so unusual or bespoke equipment is a real risk. The second is method: Honeywell never names FMEA as a supported method and digital twin appears only in third-party analyst commentary rather than in any Honeywell source, so neither is credited here. If your deliverable is an auditable reliability method, the reliability-modelling products are the right shortlist and no amount of detection will substitute for one.
The naming is also a legitimate reason to look around. Asset Sentinel, IR, IRIS, Forge APM and Forge Performance+ are all in the lineage, so a proposal and a reference customer may not describe the same deployment, and the Remote Monitoring Service may be included or separately subscribed. What carries over to almost every alternative below is the vendor-agnostic premise: Honeywell integrates data and custom models across equipment types and OEM vendors, with Versatilis sensors optional and Corrosion Advisor working without corrosion sensors, and most credible alternatives are likewise software over your existing estate. No vendor in this category publishes a price.

GE Vernova Asset Performance Management
GE Vernova
Modular asset performance management suite for industrial and energy assets, sold by GE Vernova after the GE split. Includes the Meridium and SmartSignal lines and is positioned around asset health, reliability and integrity.
Why consider it: The closest comparable broad APM suite for industrial and energy estates, modular, requiring no vendor sensors, covering asset health, reliability assessment, asset strategy, integrity and inspection. Where Honeywell describes a hybrid modelling method and names failure modes, GE Vernova asserts prediction without describing it, so failure prediction could not be verified there. GE Vernova also states no on-premises option, which Honeywell does through Asset Sentinel.

ABB Ability Genix APM
ABB
ABB asset performance management family on the Genix industrial analytics platform. The entry product, Genix APM Predict, is a condition monitoring system that aggregates electrical, vibration and process equipment data and deploys on-premises or in the cloud.
Why consider it: The other automation-major suite that explicitly needs no vendor hardware, runs on-premises or cloud, and sells as SaaS or a perpetual licence. It is a smaller, more modestly scoped product: Predict is a condition monitoring system that ABB says enables a path to predictive maintenance, with no prediction mechanism described, so failure prediction is unverified. Connector detail is ABB-centric and only the entry tier is publicly documented.

Aspen Mtell
AspenTech (Emerson)
Machine learning based prescriptive maintenance software that builds anomaly and failure agents from process and condition data, with embedded FMEA to prescribe corrective action and push coded work orders into an EAM system.
Why consider it: Also verified for failure prediction, and the better fit if you want models trained on your own confirmed failure history rather than a vendor library. Mtell embeds FMEA to prescribe corrective action, which Honeywell does not name, and pushes coded work orders into the EAM. It depends on usable maintenance records, so a site with thin failure history will get an anomaly alarm system instead, and no deployment model is published at all.

AMS Optics
Emerson
Emerson asset performance platform, formerly Plantweb Optics, with an embedded historian and documented OT connectivity including OPC classic, OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, ODBC and a REST web API.
Why consider it: A good answer if the real blocker is OT data consolidation rather than modelling. AMS Optics has the best-documented connectivity in the category, classic OPC, OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, ODBC and custom web APIs on ingress with OPC and REST on egress, plus an embedded historian so a site without one is not blocked, and cloud, on-premises and hybrid. It is not a predictive product: Emerson attributes prediction to Aspen Mtell, a separate licence.

Predictive Asset Intelligence
SymphonyAI
SymphonyAI predictive maintenance and reliability product built on the IRIS Foundry platform. It works on data you already collect through more than one hundred pre-built connectors, with no vendor sensors required.
Why consider it: Comparable shipped modelling structure, more than eighty thousand asset templates with FMEA libraries, plus the named connector list Honeywell lacks: PI System, AspenTech, SAP, SCADA and CMMS. It adds an edge deployment option for poorly connected sites. It does not carry Honeywell's first-principles efficiency modelling, so energy and performance degradation use cases do not transfer, and its failure prediction method is not published.

What this page is not
This is not a ranking and there is no single best alternative. The right choice depends on what you are replacing and why, which is why each entry states a specific reason rather than a score. Capability values come from each product's structured profile, where anything unverified is labelled as such rather than assumed.
