Unit4 ERP
by Unit4
Unit4 cloud ERP for people-centric and services organisations. Unit4 markets the current platform as ERPx, on a quarterly release cadence, and uses Unit4 ERP as the broader line name. Main marketing site rate limited, so capability detail is thin.
What it is
The naming question is now answered, and the answer is that both names are live. unit4.com itself returned HTTP 429 Too Many Requests on every attempt across three different product URLs, and the Unit4 community site carried no product information. But info.unit4.com, which Unit4 runs on its own domain, was reachable, and it shows Unit4 using both names in the same breath: the platform is ERPx, with the line that Unit4's ERPx takes care of business, while Unit4 ERP appears as the broader product line name in the same page's resources. So ERPx is the specific current cloud platform and Unit4 ERP is the umbrella. A buyer should expect proposals, reference customers and third-party reviews to use the two interchangeably, and should pin down which generation is being quoted. Secondary sources describe ERPx as the successor to the older Agresso and Business World products, which is useful for recognising legacy installations but was not verified.
Status is active and the release cadence is quarterly. Unit4 runs quarterly customer product update sessions, describing them as quarterly sessions that keep customers informed about the newest developments and key enhancements, and the page names a specific shipment: the Q2 2026 ERPx product release available on 19 July. That is a product on a live, disclosed release train, which settles the availability question that the first research pass had to leave open.
Two capabilities are named, and they reveal the product's shape. Unit4 DataHub is described as providing an analytics team with a live, governed connection to ERPx financial, project and HR data, and Financial Information eXperience, abbreviated FIX, as providing financial performance visibility for everyone who needs it and not just the finance team. The DataHub description is the single most informative line available: it tells you that the three data domains Unit4 considers core to ERPx are finance, projects and HR. That is a services organisation's shape, not a manufacturer's. There is no mention of inventory, production or warehouse anywhere in the material that could be read.
What is still unverified. Only reporting and analytics is recorded as a capability below. The general ledger, payables, receivables, fixed assets, procurement, project accounting, payroll, multi-company consolidation, multi-currency, statutory tax, any documented API and mobile access were not stated on any page that could be read, so all remain unknown. Project and HR data domains are evidenced by the DataHub line but a data domain is not a module claim, so neither project accounting nor payroll is promoted to supported. Deployment is recorded as cloud because ERPx is described as a cloud platform with a quarterly SaaS release train; on-premises and hybrid remain unknown. No price is published that could be read.
Unit4 has long positioned itself around people-centric and services organisations rather than manufacturing, with public sector, higher education, non-profits and professional services as its core markets. The finance, projects and HR triad named in the DataHub description is consistent with that, but the sector focus itself is editorial background and the organisation size values below are inferences rather than vendor statements.
Capabilities
Each capability carries its own verification status. “Not verified” means exactly that: it has not been checked, and must not be read as absent.
| Capability | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Reporting and analytics Financial and operational reporting and analytics. | Yes | Unit4 DataHub gives analytics teams a live, governed connection to ERPx financial, project and HR data, and Financial Information eXperience (FIX) provides financial performance visibility beyond the finance team. source |
| Mobile access Mobile application or responsive access for approvals and enquiry. | Not verified | |
| Documented API A publicly documented API for integration. | Not verified | Not stated on any page that could be read. |
| Tax and statutory compliance VAT, withholding and statutory reporting, including local regimes. | Not verified | |
| Multi-currency Transacting and reporting in multiple currencies with revaluation. | Not verified | |
| Multi-company consolidation Multiple legal entities with intercompany and consolidation. | Not verified | |
| HR and payroll Employee records and payroll, native or via integration. | Not verified | HR data is named as an ERPx data domain, but payroll is not claimed and a data domain is not a module claim. |
| Project accounting Project costing, work in progress and revenue recognition. | Not verified | Project data is named as one of the three ERPx data domains in the DataHub description, but a data domain is not a module claim, so this is not promoted to supported. |
| Manufacturing and production Bills of material, routings and production orders. | Not verified | Not mentioned anywhere in the material that could be read, and inconsistent with the finance, projects and HR focus Unit4 describes. Treat as out of scope in practice. |
| Inventory management Stock valuation, locations and movements. | Not verified | |
| Purchasing and procurement Requisitions, purchase orders and goods receipt. | Not verified | |
| Fixed asset accounting Asset registers, depreciation and disposal accounting. | Not verified | |
| Accounts receivable Customer invoicing, collections and credit control. | Not verified | |
| Accounts payable Supplier invoices, approvals and payment runs. | Not verified | |
| General ledger Core financial ledger with chart of accounts and journals. | Not verified | Not stated on any page that could be read. unit4.com returned HTTP 429 throughout. |

| Note | No figure recorded. unit4.com returned HTTP 429 Too Many Requests on every attempt, so no Unit4 pricing page could be read and it could not be established whether any list price is published. licensing_model is recorded as commercial because ERPx is a vendor-run subscription cloud platform on a quarterly release train, which is a safe reading. No price was taken from a review aggregator. |

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- On a live, disclosed quarterly release train: Unit4 runs quarterly customer product update sessions and names the Q2 2026 ERPx release as available on 19 July. verified source
- A governed analytics path out of the ERP exists as a named product, Unit4 DataHub, giving a live connection to ERPx financial, project and HR data rather than requiring custom extracts. verified source
Limitations
- Two live names, ERPx for the current platform and Unit4 ERP for the line, plus Agresso and Business World as legacy names, make secondary research on this product especially likely to describe the wrong generation. editorial
- unit4.com rate-limits automated access with HTTP 429, so the finance, procurement, payroll, multi-company, multi-currency, tax and API detail a buyer needs for a shortlist is not publicly readable. editorial
Who it suits
Organisation sizes: Medium, Enterprise
On the evidence available, this is a product for services and people-centric organisations, and almost certainly the wrong product for a manufacturer. The finance, projects and HR data triad Unit4 names for ERPx is the clearest signal, and the complete absence of inventory, production or warehouse language supports it. That is a reasonable basis for deciding whether to shortlist, but not enough to decide between Unit4 and a rival, so a diligence checklist follows.
- Pin down the generation, not the status. Status is settled and the cadence is quarterly. Ask Unit4 to confirm in writing which name and generation is being quoted, since ERPx is the current platform and Unit4 ERP is the umbrella line, and ask what the migration path is if you run an older Agresso or Business World installation.
- Confirm the target sectors and ask for reference customers in your own sector and country, since Unit4 serves quite specific verticals and general references will not tell you much.
- Confirm deployment. Cloud, on-premises and hybrid are all unknown here, as is who operates the platform.
- Confirm functional scope module by module for general ledger, payables, receivables, fixed assets, procurement, project accounting, HR and payroll, multi-company consolidation, multi-currency, statutory tax for your countries, and reporting. If you are a public body or a non-profit, add grant, fund and restricted-income accounting explicitly.
- Confirm the integration surface, including whether a documented API exists and what it covers.
- Get the full cost across subscription, hosting, support, implementation and renewal uplift terms.
Alternatives verified in this pass. For project and services-led requirements where public vendor information could be read, this directory has verified profiles for Deltek Vantagepoint, which Deltek positions explicitly at architecture, engineering and consulting firms, Deltek Costpoint for government contracting, Workday Financial Management for services-led finance and consolidation, Acumatica Cloud ERP with a named Professional Services edition, and Dynamics 365 Business Central, which Microsoft positions at wholesale and professional services. That list reflects which vendor sites were readable, not a quality ranking, and Unit4 should not be ruled out because its site rate-limited a crawler.
On pricing. No figure is recorded and the licensing model is unknown. No figure was taken from a review aggregator.

Frequently asked questions
Both, for different things. Unit4 material on its own info.unit4.com domain uses ERPx for the current cloud platform, with the line that Unit4 s ERPx takes care of business, and Unit4 ERP as the broader line name. Secondary sources describe ERPx as the successor to Agresso and Business World. Pin down which generation a proposal covers.
Yes. Unit4 runs quarterly customer product update sessions covering the newest developments and key enhancements, and names the Q2 2026 ERPx product release as available on 19 July, so the product is on a live release train.
Probably not. The three ERPx data domains Unit4 names are financial, project and HR, and nothing in the material that could be read mentions inventory, production or warehouse. Treat manufacturing as out of scope and look at a manufacturing specialist instead.
Because unit4.com itself returned HTTP 429 Too Many Requests on every attempt across three product URLs, and the Unit4 community site carried no product information. Only the info.unit4.com page could be read, so only what it states is recorded.
