Market Dojo versus Tradogram: an e-sourcing tool against a procure-to-pay tool

These two products are in different classes, and that is the point of putting them side by side. Market Dojo is e-sourcing: it runs RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, multi-stage tenders, weighted bid scoring and eAuctions, and nothing else. Tradogram is procure-to-pay: requisitions, approvals, purchase orders, receiving, invoice matching, budgets, contracts and inventory, with a light RFQ module bolted on. They are not substitutes. A buyer who shortlists both is usually asking the wrong question, and the right one is which half of the process is actually broken. Source-to-pay versus procure-to-pay sets out the full map.

Market Dojo own framing makes the handoff explicit: it converts sourcing events and quote requests into purchase-ready data without rekeying, and feeds clean structured award data into purchasing and invoice workflows elsewhere. It does not state purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice matching, catalogue management or budget control. Contracts are a handoff too, described as transforming awarded sourcing events into structured contract inputs, with contract management a separate Esker product. Tradogram covers all of that downstream work but stops short of real evaluation: bid comparison is stated while formal scoring or weighting is not, and there are no auctions and no sourcing events anywhere.

The main differences

Market Dojo, the sourcing half. RFIs, RFPs and RFQs in a centralised platform, configurable multi-stage tenders, side-by-side bid comparison with weighted scoring, integrated eAuctions in forward and reverse formats including ranked and Japanese, supplier profiles with qualifications and performance data, real-time messaging with suppliers, and reporting. That auction depth is strong for a small vendor. Naming is in transition and buyers should know both halves: Esker markets it as Esker Sourcing, with a companion product called Esker Quote Request, and Esker own 2026 material uses the phrase Esker Sourcing by Market Dojo, while the Market Dojo brand remains live. Treat them as the same product under two names. Esker SA acquired a 50.1 percent majority effective Q1 2022 with an agreement to buy the remaining 49.9 percent after four years; that period falls due around now and completion could not be confirmed.

Tradogram, the transactional half. Purchase Requisition, Approval Workflow Automation, Purchase Order, Supplier and Vendor Management, RFQ and Sourcing Management, Receiving Management, Automated Invoice Matching, Budget and Spend Control, Reporting and Analytics, Inventory Management, Contract Management, AI Procurement and Payment Management. Two statements stand out at this price point: 3-Way Invoice Matching is named explicitly, and the RFQ module genuinely lets you run RFQs, collect supplier quotes and compare bids. That combination is unusual below the enterprise suites. Its integration surface is the widest in its tier: QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Xero, NetSuite, Business Central, Sage 50, Sage 300 and Sage Intacct, SAP and Oracle generically, Power BI, Azure AD and OneLogin, plus roughly sixteen PunchOut suppliers including Grainger, Uline, McMaster-Carr, Thermo Fisher and Fisher Scientific.

Pricing: both publish, and one carries a serious currency warning. Market Dojo publishes from 1,000 pounds per month on a vendor-owned landing page, described as a monthly procurement licence that scales with your team, with no lock-in, and the currency is explicitly stated as GBP rather than inferred, which is unusual and welcome. An alternative is to start with a single sourcing event, though no per-event price is published, and eAuctions, intake management and additional users are unpriced add-ons. A free Sandpit environment exists for test events, which is a sandbox rather than a usable free production tier. Tradogram publishes Essentials at 99 per month, or 950.40 per year labelled a 20 percent saving, from one user, with Premium and Scale quote-only. That is the lowest published entry point in this category, but the currency is never stated anywhere and the risk is material. The page prints a bare dollar sign with no code or name, and no Tradogram-owned page states a billing currency at all: the terms of use, the billing FAQ and the knowledge base were all checked and none names one. USD is recorded here purely as an inference, on the basis that a bare dollar sign on an international English-language SaaS page most commonly means US dollars. The vendor may well be pricing in CAD: the contracting entity is Tradogram Inc., its terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and of Canada with suits filed in Ottawa, and those terms charge Canadian residents applicable provincial taxes. A buyer could be quoted in a different currency than the figure implies, which would be a materially different number. Get it in writing before you budget. Note also that both Essentials and Premium carry an additional user fee whose amount is not listed, so total cost is not predictable, and every tier on the current page is paid, so the free tier Tradogram was historically known for is absent.

Not verified means the capability has not been checked for that product. It does not mean the product lacks it. Blank cells and unverified rows are never counted as a "no".

Which to choose

Choose Market Dojo if you need genuine competitive sourcing discipline and already have, or do not need, a requisition-to-pay system: weighted scoring, multi-stage tenders and ranked or Japanese auctions cover most evaluation requirements short of constraint-based optimisation. Choose Tradogram if you need purchasing discipline end to end on a small budget and only occasionally need to collect and compare three quotes. Many organisations should run both, with Market Dojo for the event and Tradogram or an ERP downstream. Neither publishes API documentation: Market Dojo has none of any kind, and Tradogram claims an open API on its integrations page while publishing no documentation anywhere, so the claim cannot be evaluated.

One disclosure on evidence. marketdojo.com returned HTTP 403 Forbidden on every attempt, including the root, the pricing page and the about page, so all Market Dojo capability detail comes from esker.com, which is vendor-owned because Esker is the majority holder, plus the unblocked lp.marketdojo.com landing page. Its historic standalone modules could not be checked and are not asserted. That is a blocked vendor site, not a thin product. Tradogram is thin in a different way: tradogram.com/about returns 404 and no ownership, legal lineage beyond the entity name, founding year or headquarters could be established, which some procurement functions will treat as a vendor-risk issue in its own right.

Frequently asked questions

No. It is e-sourcing only: RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, multi-stage tenders, weighted bid scoring and eAuctions. It does not state requisitioning, purchase orders, invoice matching, catalogue management or budget control, and its own pages describe purchasing and invoicing as downstream systems it feeds award data into. You will need Esker other modules or your own ERP behind it.

Only for light work. Tradogram RFQ and Sourcing Management lets you run RFQs, collect quotes and compare bids, which is more than any comparable tool at its price. But formal bid scoring or weighting is not stated and there are no auctions or sourcing events, so it is quote comparison rather than structured evaluation.

Tradogram does not say, anywhere. The pricing page prints a bare dollar sign with no code, and the terms of use, billing FAQ and knowledge base were all checked and none names a billing currency. USD is recorded here as an inference only. Treat CAD as a live possibility: the entity is Tradogram Inc., the terms are governed by Ontario and Canadian law with suits filed in Ottawa, and those terms charge Canadian residents provincial taxes. The difference is material, so get the currency in writing. The currency selector on Tradogram supplier-payment pages is product functionality for paying your suppliers and says nothing about its own billing.

Because marketdojo.com returned HTTP 403 Forbidden on every attempt and no workaround was used. Esker is the majority owner, so esker.com is a vendor-owned source for the product, and the unblocked lp.marketdojo.com landing page supplied the pricing. A vendor blocking automated access is not the same as a thin product, but it does mean per-module pricing and the historic standalone modules could not be independently checked.

Sources and review basis

Attribute values come from each product's structured profile rather than being written into this page, so a correction made once appears everywhere. This comparison was last reviewed on 7 November 2026. Assessment of this category is documentation-based, not hands-on testing of every product.
