Acumatica Cloud ERP versus Oracle NetSuite ERP
This is the classic mid-market cloud ERP head-to-head, and for once the evidence gap runs in favour of the smaller vendor. acumatica.com was fully accessible, so eight capabilities are verified from one readable product page. netsuite.com returned HTTP 403 Forbidden, so the NetSuite marketing page could not be read at all and all capability evidence had to come from the Oracle NetSuite documentation index on docs.oracle.com, which names only help area titles. That yields four verified capabilities and eleven recorded as unknown.
Do not read that as NetSuite being functionally narrower. It is not. The documentation index itself describes Oracle NetSuite as one unified business management suite encompassing ERP and financials, CRM and ecommerce, with documented Accounting, Supply Chain, Order Management, Projects and Employee Management areas, plus Globalization and Country-Specific Features areas and a documented mobile offering. The granular functions are unknown because the source names areas rather than modules, not because NetSuite lacks them.
Verified on the Acumatica side, from the product page: general ledger as part of a full suite of accounting functions, purchase order management, inventory management, manufacturing management covering bill of materials, production management and MRP, project accounting, payroll management, multi-entity and intercompany accounting, and reporting with dashboards and a data analysis toolkit. Acumatica also sells six named industry editions: General Business, Manufacturing, Construction, Distribution, Professional Services and Retail.

Full profileThe main differences
Manufacturing is the sharpest divide in the record
Acumatica manufacturing is verified and specific, naming bill of materials, production management and MRP, with a dedicated Manufacturing edition. NetSuite manufacturing was not named on the documentation index read, so it is recorded as unknown and flagged as worth testing hard if manufacturing matters. If you are a manufacturer, that is the difference between a claim you can check today and a question you have to put to a salesperson.
Multi-entity
Acumatica names Multi-Entity and Intercompany Accounting on the product page. NetSuite OneWorld multi-entity consolidation was not named on the documentation index read, so it is unverified here despite being widely associated with NetSuite. Confirm it in a demo. Again, that is an evidence gap created by a vendor 403, not a product gap.
Cost shape
Neither publishes a price, and for both it could not be established whether a list price exists. Two different cautions apply.
- Acumatica: the resource-based rather than per-user licensing model the vendor is known for in the market was specifically looked for and was NOT stated on the page read, so it is not recorded as verified. Confirm the licensing metric and overage terms in writing before you model anything.
- NetSuite: real estates frequently end up as a core subscription plus several third-party SuiteApps, so a quoted core price understates total cost and multiplies the number of support and upgrade relationships you carry. Renewal uplift is a well-known friction point, so negotiate renewal terms and caps in the first contract rather than at renewal.
Ownership stability
Acumatica ownership has changed twice since 2019: EQT acquired it in 2019 and Vista Equity Partners agreed to acquire it from EQT in May 2025. That is a legitimate diligence question, and renewal and support commitments are worth securing contractually. NetSuite sits inside Oracle, which is a different kind of risk profile: stable ownership, but a vendor that maintains Fusion Cloud ERP as a separate enterprise line, so you should understand where NetSuite stops and where Oracle would rather move you.
Gaps on both sides
Multi-currency, tax compliance and any documented API are unknown for both. For Acumatica that is because the product page does not name them despite mentioning global purchasing. For NetSuite it is because the index names Globalization and Country-Specific Features as areas without detail. International and integration buyers get no help from public material from either vendor and must raise both explicitly.

Not verified means the capability has not been checked for that product. It does not mean the product lacks it. Blank cells and unverified rows are never counted as a "no".

Read the full assessmentWhich to choose
Choose Acumatica if manufacturing, project accounting or payroll are in scope and you want to verify breadth before you talk to anyone. Eight verified capabilities on one readable page, plus a vertical edition that pre-shapes the product, is the most checkable mid-market record in this category. Price the licensing metric carefully, because it is not published.
Choose NetSuite if you want one suite spanning ERP, CRM and ecommerce from a single vendor with a large app marketplace, and go in expecting to prove manufacturing and multi-entity consolidation yourself, because neither could be verified from readable sources. Budget for SuiteApps in year one, not year three, and cap renewal uplift in the original contract.
If Microsoft is also on your list, we have dedicated articles rather than repeating them here: Business Central versus NetSuite and Business Central versus Acumatica. If you are weighing hosted against vendor-run cloud more broadly, cloud versus on-premise TCO sets out the cost model.
Frequently asked questions
It could not be verified. netsuite.com returned HTTP 403 Forbidden, so the marketing page was not read, and manufacturing was not named on the Oracle NetSuite documentation index that was readable. It is recorded as unknown, not absent. If manufacturing matters, test it hard in a scripted demonstration with your own bills of material.
Only Acumatica can be evidenced today: Multi-Entity and Intercompany Accounting is named on its product page. NetSuite OneWorld consolidation is widely associated with the product but was not named on the documentation index read, so it is unverified here. Confirm it in a demo rather than assuming either way.
Neither publishes a figure. For Acumatica the licensing metric itself is unpublished, including the resource-based model it is known for, so get it in writing with overage terms. For NetSuite, expect a core subscription plus SuiteApps, which means the core quote understates total cost, and negotiate renewal caps in the first contract.
Unknown for both. Acumatica names no API on the product page read. The NetSuite documentation index names a SuiteCloud Platform area and a Developer Documentation link but did not name SuiteTalk REST or SOAP on the page read, so no verified claim is made. Both almost certainly have integration surfaces; neither could be confirmed in this pass.
